Paper Piecing

I love this cute image from Saturated Canary that I brought recently in a bundle. The skirt of the dress is ideal if you are colouring with copics but I didn't much fancy it with it with pencils so I decided to paper piece it.

I should of got up and find the Christmas Doodlebug paper that has small pattern but was feeling far too lacy and decided to use this LOTV papers instead. After I made the card I found the holly paper that went with it but too late now.

The idea of using the image to hide the join was a card on Pinterest using one of those Prima Doll stamps you know the ones with no face. I managed to get over Tilda's without a mouth but I don't get the no faces at all. But the Saturday Canary are ideal to do this since they are quite tall images.

To decorate I just got my favourite Holly swirl from Cheery Lyn but I did chop it up. Then some Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Parade which I love because of their size. The stitched wavy scallop die is also from Simon Says Stamp, original I just cut it out of white and then decided to cut it in the red and carefully fussy cut the border just above the faux stitching.

The sentiment added last but held my breath since everything was stuck down and I had to avoid the dress because of how it was 3d.

Yesterday I decided I need some really quick Christmas Cards by using Pinterest, they all ended in the bin apart from one. So I gave up and coloured some images instead.

  1. The SC image is so sweet Debby and I adore your paper piecing and .ove the green plaid for the skirt and the background and all enhanced so prettily with the pretty poinsettias and holly swirls together with that great curved scallop edge to the image mat. A gorgeous card! x

  9. I think this is a very classy card and while you may not have been keen on your paper choice I think the white sets it all off brilliantly. Fab design.
