Let them eat Cake
I've had this gorgeous image coloured for absolutely ages but what put me off was the bow on her sleeve doesn't stamp that well. I'm finding some of my favourite stamp companies their quality of stamps are not as good as they were and even though they are more than happy to exchange them sometimes I just can't be bothered especially as this isn't the first stamp its happened to, so I've started to avoid buying them which is a shame.
So I should have used a Memento pen to draw the line but its gone missing so it was a good job I used a white bow and no colouring was involved.
The sketch is from The Sketchy Challenge I think there's enough of it left to considered although its still a bit clean and simple for me but this seems to be the new me at the moment.
I used the Harrington vine die from Simon Says stamps and I've acquired a new punch from Martha Stewart for the flowers although the larger ones are a Elizabeth Designs one. The corners are La La Land die but even that has a bit of an issue nothing a sharp knife can't deal with still a pain though.
I could have layer more of her hair like the ringlets could be done separate has could the rolls but there were a lot of cutting with this for example each one of the bows.
Looks like things are looking up and I actually made two cards yesterday, lets hope this continues.

Debby you are far too critical of yourself! The bow looks fine to me I can't see where it didn't stamp. I know what you mean about dies though sometimes I have to put them through that many times, add shims, metal cutting plates - whew! Your card is gorgeous I love it!! Susan x

Well I think your card looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should let, either the Company, or the Supplier of your Stamps and Dies know they are not working properly?
I sell crafty products online and would ALWAYS want to know if products arn't working properly, that way we could all, including us as sellers, vote with our feet by not buying them?
We sometimes have to do that with products in Supermarkets, so I think we should do it with Crafty things too:)

This is exquisite, hun! Such beautiful colours and details - so lovely!!
ReplyDeleteI've had some difficulty with removing card from complicated dies, but someone recommended rubbing over the die with a tumble-dryer cloth, and that seems to work for me. I hope that's a useful tip for you!
Also, I use Tsukineko Tack'n'peel on my acrylic block for unmounted rubber stamps, it gives a better impression than just gluing the stamp on with a stick glue. I've also begun using an old mouse mat as a support for my card when I'm stamping onto it, that seems to give a better image. Hope all this helps!
love Mags B xx
