Tis the Season

This card started off as the Cute Card Thursday Sketch but had to move the sentiment because it looked better above then below the image, but this card sure did give me a headache.
The papers are last years Kaiser called Carnival Christmas and it has smaller bauble paper and large baubles with glitter so I cut out some large one for embellishments and the sentiment is from the pack too.
I stuck the mats down and the image and before layering I stuck the baubles on with their silver string, planning  that when they were dry to fold it over the card.
So I carried on sticking the Martha Stewart Holly and layered the cute Penny Black Hedgies added the sentiment went to stick the string down and realised the card fold was on the right WHOOPS. This wouldn't have been as bad as it sounds but I had for a change used double sided tape not my usual repositional herma. Somehow very carefully it lifted off and I was able to put it right.PHEW
So I gave it the finally look to see if less was more or does it need something else when something just wasn't right. The baubles on the main background mat were now sideways!!!!!!
As luck would have it the bauble paper will be fine with the fold of card at the top but that would mean the image is now the wrong way and the baubles certainly didn't hang anymore. There was no way I could risk lifting it all again so it meant removing the large baubles and the middle mat including image to be turned. As you can see I managed it with it all in tacked just wished now the photo wasn't crooked but I guessing I pushed my luck with this card already.
So off to a Stampin Up party with Lesley Grenouille Greetings can you believe she only lives a hop, skip and jump away from me but I still have to have my Sister pick me up cos I don't drive anymore and Julie Catch me Crafting whose my team-mate from Mo's Dream Team will be there too not sure there will be much shopping but certainly plenty of chatting.

  2. It has turned out gorgeous Debby. You made me smile :-) I have lost count with the number of times I've stuck things on the wrong way round or had the card opening the 'wrong' way.....Sometimes I have managed to change it, although it wasn't as neat as yours...sometimes though it couldn't be salvaged.....It has certainly made some folk smile when they have tried to work out why the card is opening the wrong way....Have a good weekend...S x

  38. Absolutely gorgeous - now somebody told me the other day, how to take something off, if you have double sided taped it down wrong- i think it's either your heat gun or iron, but will find out and let you know, in case it happens again, Luv Sam x
