  3. Those words and that picture are a powerful thing, Debby, thank you. My paternal gramps was a survivor of WWI .....until now, I didn't understand the horror of it all.

  6. Thanks Debbie...floods of memories of my grandfather (my Mums Dad. He was originally from Cleator in Cumbria.

    He took me on first trip to England when i was just 14. We went for 6 weeks! I fell in love with England and have returned many times over the years.
    He was a brave soldier...fought in WW1 and the Boer War. I have pictures of him marching in his kilt. He was in the Royal Iniskillen Fusilliers (sp).
    Thanks for the memories flooding over from your post!
