Sketch Saturday

Leaving this Sketch Saturday card close to the deadline but hopefully I made it. The sketch was quite simple and I wasn't going to have a go when I had lightbulb moment to used the gathered lace that is I've now only one piece left for the strip in the middle. With the new LOTV papers it simply fell into place.
I did break my stamp ban by buying the bear with a robin and the Kraft Christmas papers didn't buy them the first time round but some how these sentiment fell into my basket too. Mainly cos they have a New Home and Good Luck but also I can stamp on white and coloured paper to have a matching coloured border well thats the plan.
My little LOTV bear is matted on a Romantic Rectangle which is absolutely perfect for him and the balloon has been paper pieced.
Well I spending the day with my Sis tomorrow I plan to take as much Stampin Up I can fit in my Scrapbooking Tote cos I still want to make some more cards for my Friends Stampin up Open Day.
She's given me some Chocolate chip card so I can play with my Owl punch, which I've never used.

A5 Sassy

I promised to use an smaller card for the Sassy Cheryl images but now I'm not sure it works with this little darling.
I've used the sketch from Friday Sketch with a little bit of an alteration with the ribbon. Not sure what paper I've used possibly October Afternoon but don't hold that to me.
Sassy Cheryl has 20% off her images this weekend but it seems Paypal hasn't confirmed the payment so just waiting for that to sort out, only meant to get two images but another popped into the basket too.

Patchwork Plane

I just couldn't think of a card using the 3-2-1 challenge of Less is More that hadn't already be done and in the end I settled with using the Patchwork plane from the set from Woodware that also had the Patchwork Hot Air Balloon since I hadn't use it yet.
So it 3 clouds, 2 tags and 1 plane, the papers for the plane are scraps and my black pen had a work out for the faux stitching.
Well its all changed about my MIL coming down she has been extremely poorly with a chest infection, at first the doctor was so worried he called an ambulance and she spent the day at hospital for x rays and tests. I think they feared it was pneumonia, luckily for MIL it wasn't and she came home but even though she is getting better she is exhausted and its taken it toll.
So Hubby has rearranged his half days off to full days and we're going up there next week so even though the panic for cards is still there I've got a couple of extra days.

Hero Arts

It's time for another challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge..
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

OneI know everyone loves Anything Goes but also the team is showcasing Hero Art products available in the Simon Says Stamps Shop. Of course this isn't a requirement to enter just a way we can show how amazing the shop is.

Now my Hero Art Rose Background is a square but I didn't want to be too square so I cut it in half on the corners and then layers on the top, they were coloured using Faber Castell Polychromos a bit hard than Prisms but don't break so often. Behind the roses I stamped and embossed with white powder the Hero Arts Lattice Background. I also used the Martha Stewart Doily punch along with a cuttlebug die corner.
But I'm in a bit of a dilemma cos I know I got the papers from Simon Says Stamps  but can't remember what they were but they had a plain sheet which makes me think it may be Kaiser.

Now to be in with a chance to win this fabulous prize you need to enter our challenge and make sure you link to the challenge it part of the requirements to be a winner.

Snowy House

Well this should of  been a quick card but with all the layers for the Hero Arts Snowy house it took a bit longer than I though.
I could almost most pretend I made the background but its from the Lily of Valley new paper pads this one was in the blue snowy one perfect for my little house. I torn the white card to make the snow drifts I can just about manage this since there is no patterned paper to tear.
The tree are my favourite tree die from Marianne and I ran it through the Big Shot with the snow flurries embossing folder.
Or that left was the Picket fence using Martha Stewart punch and some of my mixture of Fun Flock and Flower Soft, also not forgetting a bit of glitter.
Back at 2pm with my Simon Says Stamps Challenge Card.

Gothic Wedding

Everybody Art Challenge is BACK after the Summer Break and a nice and easy challenge to get us all motivated, Anything Goes. I've gone for a Wedding Card but a bit different from the norm. I love this image which is a digi from  Tiddly Inks called You and Me.
I know this paper is Kaiser but almost all the nice ones had been used so I had pulled out the last few that I liked and gave the rest away but it does mean I don't know the name. I've used the punch anywhere from Martha Stewart for the middle mat. This made it look quite busy so I just I kept the rest of the card simple too. So a bit of lace and ribbon, a few tinky flowers and a sentiment.
I do hope you can join us at Everybody Art Challenge and do check out the team.

Christmas Fairy Holly

Absolutely love this Fairy Holly from Mo Manning I also coloured her in my fave coloured of red and blue and then discovered I didn't have any papers to match. Must stop doing that one reason it cost me to go on the Nitwits site to find something suitable to download and you can't just buy one set now can you.
I maybe nit picking but the green in the papers and her wings don't really match but this was the closes I could find that I liked.
But I do think I may have discovered a new border to replace the deep edge doily punch and it a die from MFT called Crochet Border, I think I love it more than the punch so be prepare to see it often.
But I did use the Martha Stewart Holly punch and an awful lot of glamour dust, I also coloured the snowglobe with some pens I had handy but it didn't like the glossy accents so must remember not to use them again when using it the accents.
Didn't get to the Supermarket we decided to use the my Mobility Scooter thats been hold up in the shed cos the batteries need replacing which my clever husband changed himself and cost us half the price we had been quoted. So it needed a good work out so we took it round Stoke Park to see how much damaged Guilfest and the Torch Relay had been done. It may have taken out half of the Park but what an amazing job the staff had done to restore it and now its just a case of waiting for grass seed to grow.
This week its a case of head down and make loads of cards well enough for a couple of weeks so although I maybe not commenting much this week I still shall be visiting can't go by with out getting my blog fix.

Final Christening card

Well this is the last of three Christening cards and another gorgeous Baby image from Mo called Baby Boy s there are a couple with different types of hairstyle but this one is like my babies with fly away hair.
Very simple design and I loving Kraft card at the moment. I've used the deep edge Doily punch for round the main mat and the check paper is from Craft Creations. The faux brads are 1/4inch circle punch and the flowers are from MFT.
Unfortunately I didn't get to MJ yesterday I had a text message from my friend that she had been ill all night. So even though I was disappointed I was glad she kept the bug to herself cos I didn't fancy her sharing it with me.
I still did want I planned and that was to colour some Christmas Images but today Hubby is taking me out cos I'm going a bit stir crazy probably somewhere exciting like a Supermarket!!

Blue Christmas

Well you have one more week for the Double Trouble Penny Black Saturday Challenge before we have a new one. I reckon I'm still going to have a Penny Black Saturday otherwise my Penny Black collection may never get used.
Here we have cute pair making snowflakes and I've used the sketch from Friday Sketch which I have turned, think it works a treat this way. Although you can't see the white mat has been embossed with the retired snow flurries and the border is Memory Box. The snowflakes are a mixture of punches, all have been glitterized. Just a bow and a sentiment to finish.
Well I'm off to MJ All Day Crop today but my friend Nikki is taking me and I've decided with my MIL coming down in a ten days time and may be a job to get into my craft room I need to get loads of images coloured to have a serious card making week, so I shall have a day of colouring and maybe help Nikki with some cutting for her swaps.

Wave the Flags

The camera is playing tricks again the so call looking black card stock is actually dark blue!  I may have to have another go at taking a photo. The sketch is Sketchy challenge and the papers are Teresa Collins and of course the image is Saturated Canary one of the ones that Krista is offering free but hoping you will donate to a worthy cause I just paid what I would normally cos I reckon I would've brought them anyway.
The tiny bunting is a stamp from magnolia which I cut out and put on some twine and my chevrons or if you an oldie like me zig-zag is a MFT die .
Had my eyes tested yesterday looks like its going to cost me an arm and leg for new glasses.
But on a happier note spent the evening with my Sis and my Gt nephew Jake we went bowling, he thought it was funny that I had to use the frame thingy that children used but he didn't mind helping me with giving the ball a push but even that has annoyed my shoulder but it was still good fun.

Tearing

I do think the Less is More girls have bugged my craftroom because they pick challenges that they know I will not like. Anyone who crafts with me knows that tearing is something I hate and when I'm forced to tear its usually with my eyes shut.
I coped quite well with this bit of tearing just straight down the page and I'm afraid this is my limit but I kinda like it. I used the left over bit Tartan paper from the card I made earlier this week and paper pieced the MFT pure innocence image that sort of slipped into my basket from Simon Says Stamps.
I was buying some MFT border dies because I'm finding punching a bit harder to use these days so you could say they were essentials but I'm cutting down on buying actual stamps since one I have too many and two again I'm finding it harder to stamp lots of times for my layering too.
The tags I have one of those plastic templates but before I used it I stamped the Stampin Up sentiment so I could turn the template to make it fit.
Oh before I forget I used some fun flock on the top of boots.

Back to School

Well that week went quick and here we are again with another Simon Says Stamps Challenge.
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

This week its Back to School and the team is showcasing Sizzix products.

I was lucky to be able to get a sizzix  product for this challenge but next time I really need to check the challenge before I buy cos I brought the On the edge snow flurries which so wasn't going to work for this challenge.
So I decided to alter a notebook even managed to use the card to make a slot for a pencil too. But I did use the Tim Holtz Brackets from Sizzix for the cover so it gave a fun edge. I also used the Filmstrip Frames which I placed some chipboard letters.
The papers are Teresa Collins Spring Fling which I have recently discovered and absolutely love, along with my favourite flowers using the Exclusive Simon Says Stamps Bella Bloom die or thats left to finish is the cute The Greeting Farm girl from the Miss Anya Collection.

Now you know the drill if you want the chance of this amazing prize you have to join in with our challenge.

Parcels

Just a quick card for posting this morning and gosh it was quick the most complicated thing was to get the thin strips to hold glue to stick. The bows are a Memory box Crisp Bows die which I also used to go across the embossed parcels which are just some shapes I cut out.
Another really fast and easy card to make for Christmas though those bows will work for Birthday presents too.
I had some lovely news yesterday but not sure I like being a Great Auntie again but my nephew and his partner gave birth to a little boy yesterday making my brother a Granddad again.
Back again with my Simon Says Stamps Challenge card at 2pm.

Merged

Merging Mo's images are a work in progress and takes quite a bit of time but at least when you've done it you just save it to use next time. I'm still not convinced I've made Victoria Caroling smaller enough for the Winter's Door but I couldn't make her smaller for layering.
To start with I wasn't keen on my card since Mr Mojo left the building but has since grown on me. The bit of tartan is from LOTV paper pack and once again I used the sizzix diamond folder. The lamp is a die from Marianne and the holly is a Martha Stewart punch, finished with ribbon and pearls for the holly berries and for the folder.
The snow is Flowersoft and Fun Flock, I mix a bit of each together, it works that the fun flock covers what the flowersoft doesn't.
I don't make cards everyday but when I do I like to make at least two but yesterday I only managed one, gave myself loads of cutting out and layering plus I have a cross-stitch project that is now down to outlining stitching, so I'm not at the stage where it keeps calling me to finish.

Spit Happens

I love Mo Manning's babies and you can find Spit Happens first on my list, I think is he absolutely adorable. So I keep being informed I need a baby card for the end of September and since she is such a fuss pot I made a card well in advance.
The sketch is Sweet Sketch Wednesday I think I ticked all the boxes this time I've already used the sketch and then realised its a round mat for the image and I used a rectangle.
The papers are Teresa Collins and the funky flower punch had an outing along with another EK succes flower punch and the centre is a Kars snowflake punch.
I had a fun day at Scrapbuddies I just took some colouring and I pleased with how many I completed. Since I'm going to MJ All Day Crop on Saturday I thought I would do the same but with some Christmas images so that I can get the ball running, cos  two weeks today its September 3rd and its all down hill to Christmas from there.

Sassy Mickey

I love Sassy Cheryl images and I love Disney kind of a winning compilation. Isn't she adorable Cheryl has made a boy since but I shall have to save up some pennies I've brought so many of them lately and I want the little girl clown too.
I do think they might work better on a A5 card so the next one I make I will give it a try. The floral paper is a scrap and the gingham, also the dotty paper are from Craft Creations. The flower are the Simon Says Stamps exclusive die Bella Bloom but only the centres possible my favourite at the moment.
The sentiment is a retired Stampin Up and finished with a gingham ribbon.
Well I have 9 fully Stampin Up cards for Nikki's Open Day on the 15th September and the day was a great success with the help of Pinterest and I still have ideas in my head or cards I want to case.
I did have issues I didn't have any ribbon since I like the grosgrain I get I don't have any from Stampin Up, luckily Nikki pop by, with some seam ribbon which I don't get get on with much but it did work out.
Today I'm chilling at Scrapbuddies crop, no scrapbooking taking some images to colour and I'm not going to own up to buying the new LOTV papers but I'm glad I did!

Favourite Penny Black

Last week saw the new challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge for using two images and there's plenty of time to join in.
Still trying to get used to not having a Penny Black challenge card for Saturday so I thought I would use one of my all time favourites.
In fact I believe my Sister first had this stamp and I loved it so much I brought one myself. Very simple card for me but I think thats more do with Mr Mojo.
The gingham papers is from Craft Creations and I've used two Cuttlebug embossing folders one with daisies on and the other hearts. Also from Cuttlebug the corner die which will always be a favourite its a perfect size and I haven't found anything to replace it.
Then my flowers are Woodware punches, again an all time favourite and they look fab in white with a coloured centre, well I think so.
So I sorted all my Stampin Up stuff that is current and in the catalogue, I didn't realise I had so much stuff, now the hardest job is create something pretty not using any other supplies!

Butterfly Girl

Lucky for me Mr Mojo left after I made this card last week, I'm trying to always have a card or two in reserve for days I can't craft and I think Mr Mojo leaving is a good enough reason to pop this card on my blog.
She is of course a Saturated Canary image and the sketch is from CLP. Papers are Memory Box, swirl from MFT, flowers are EK Success punches and the butterflies are a Kars punch. The strips I made using a square punch for the banners shape.`
I wish all my cards fall together like this instead of spending hours moving papers and embellishments round the card.
So once again its Friday and the weather is looking good for the weekend and I plan a Stampin Up Saturday. My friend Nikki is having an Open day with free make and take at a hall near Guildford (details see below)  and there is going to be a demo namely ME I'm not doing my 3D layering but making cards with Stampin Up products but I need a few already made for my table. So I've borrowed a few stamps and I punch I don't have from Sister and hopefully I will be inspired to make a few cards.

She doing the day with Colette another Stampin' Up Demonstrator, if you are local to Guildford you may remember Craft and Co in Worplesdon near Merrist Wood College. Well Colette used to work for the girls who ran it so you may remember her.
But before then I have a couple of cards to make today, lets hope the sunny weather brings back Mr Mojo.

More Fur and Feather

If at first you don't succeed try try and try again or next time don't bother, still trying to make a decent  Less is More card for One Layer Fur and Feather.
And yes that square is square cos once again I have measured it to make sure it was right, I'm so going to fire the photographer.
While hunting for Fur and Feather, I found this little chap in the bottom of a drawer isn't he cute hopefully I've managed to make it look like his paws are hanging over the square. Barely did any colouring just a few grey highlights and pink ears with a bit sparkle on his tag. He is quite old and the only thing on the stamp is Angie and I think maybe I brought him from Simply Friends stall at a Craft Show.
I like him better than the birds but I think I'll give up now
.

Fur and Feather

Whoops just noticed how crooked the card is! Of course its not got my ruler out and measured for the lines round the card before drawing them in.
I think Mr Mojo has left the building once again not helpful at all especially with the challenge on Less Is More, Fur and Feathers thast fine but one layer.
It would have been easy to use one of my cute images one a white page or would it. Possibly I would be hyperventilating every pencil I used in case I went over the lines and had to start again.
So I found these Birds on a Wire on a Tim Holtz clear set and the cat was a freebie possibly from the Craft Stamper and then I drew a couple of lines, the first time above and below the birds with the idea they were on those wires on poles forget what they're called now. Then realised that the birds probably wouldn't be sitting in the middle but on the top. So I had to start again, I drew a few dots and square to look like edge of  the poles not that worked and then stamped the cat watching them. Pretty rubbish but at least I tried.

Strawberry Girl

Woo Hoo it time for another Blog Hop with Mo's Dream Team.

Pops chosen the theme for Summer Tones but to be honest now that I added Kraft card not sure its that summery and the papers are called Spring Fling from Teresa Collins.
But summer to me was Strawberries you only ate them summertime and you always have strawberries in your Pimms well in mine you do. So thats why I used Mo's adorable image called Strawberriy Girl but she is available in a stamp too from Penny Black called Sweet Day.
The flowers are Nellie Snellen punches and the leaves are a Cheery Lynne die.
Now back to the blog hop you should have arrived from Julie but if not then you need to pop back to Pops to the start.
So now you need to Hop, Skip and Jump over to Heidy. Remember to comment on the way as there a couple free vouchers to be won.

Animal Antics

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

I'm still in the Christmas mood and its time for some Animal Antics too on Simon Says Stamps Challenge.

The patterned papers is from First Edition Christmas Joy and the embossing folder is Sizzix Christmas embossing set #3, the snowflakes are Martha Stewart Glaicial snowflake punch.
I also used the Memory Box Snowflake corner die and some red pearls which I'm not sure about now.
Lets not forget my Penny Black critters which is a stamp called To a full Stocking and of course I've coloured the wine red cos thats my favourite.

Don't forget there's this amazing prize for one lucky winner, but you do have to link to the challenge and of course make a card suitable for challenge and then you could be spending this voucher.
