Something a bit different
Mmmmm Orange Poppies, its because I feel red ones are sad ones. I suppose I think the red ones are for remembering the lost service men and that why I always thing of red poppies of sympathy cards.
But I've seen them in other colours and thought I would try Orange but mainly it was because the First Edition Boho Chic was near me and I like the pattern which I then cover up.
These Hero Arts stamps are perfect for paper piecing and I added some flower soft for the centres but its extra fine which seemed to work better than the ordinary stuff.
Just a few colour elements and a piece of twine to finish. I think I will pop this on Brenda challenge hope I can get out away with orange.

Gorgeous work!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it so much!!!
Morning Debby,
ReplyDeleteBit late getting here, not sure where my mornings gone, although I do seem to have cleared a few files from my desk. So the good part about that is the sooner work finishes I can get down to crafting.
Your thoughts on red poppies are exactly the same as my eldest daughter and she will never choose a red poppy card when she's plundering my stash.
Thing is poppies come in just about any colour and I think your orange ones are stunning. As you quite rightly say that Hero stamp lends itself perfectly to paper piecing, technique I love using especially with flowers. Could also be but I can't colouring the toffee.
I really am tickled pink that so many of you taken the time to join in my little fun challenge, thank you so much and good luck with the draw for the voucher.
