Work in progress this week on WOYWW I think you can just about see some pink daisies hiding under that page. Its not too untidy thats because I did all the stamping and masking first then had to go away and do some colouring, my pencils are in the front room. Rather than leave my stamps dirty I cleaned them first before the colouring.
So the challenge on Less is More this week is masking. There's a reason I don't do masking very often it because I'm lazy, first you have to cut out a mask well I can cut out and stick it on a card job done. Then you have to stamp your main image, wait for the ink to dry and then mask before stamping another image. Then realising it didn't stamp that well and you start again, then you try to be clever and stamp another! We all know where that one went and then you decide to be exceptionally clever and mask all the flowers (more mask cutting) to stamp a large image over all the daisies. Another two hit the bin.
So I don't know which attempt this was but I left it plain once I masked the daisy, then almost hyperventilated stamping the sentiment who said less is more is easy! The daisy stamp is an old one from Hobby Art and its well loved, I used my pencils to colour them in. The sentiment is Anitas and to finish I used some glossy accesnt for the centres of the flowers. Phew job done but then someone had the brainwave to make another but I leave that till tomorrow.
It's Fabulous Debby. Gorgeous colours and I LOve your sentiment.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, I love the effect of making but like you, find all that effort in cutting mask out etc gets in my way and I'm too impatient at times! lol Thanks for sharing this WOYWW, it's Thursday afternoon now, but I'm still snooping through the list! Take care Zo xx 22
ReplyDeleteWell done you on the masking. I've never tried it and probably won't... I'm too impatient! I adore the daisy stamp, though.

That's so beautiful, worth the effort definetly. x Amy #140
ReplyDeleteI never knew about masking and from your description I figured it out! I can use it to turn a single flower into a cluster...right? Just like you did!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words on my blog. Hubby is upstairs resting (watching the hockey game) and has sent me downstairs as I talk too much and distract him from the game! I keep saying I hope he doesn't have another heart attack from the excitement of the game!
I think I am driving him crazy hovering too much...so I do get to spend some time on replies after all.
Sounds like this was a very tricky make, Debby, but your finished card is delightfully pretty! I love it! Hugs, Lesley
ReplyDeleteI have trid but failed with this task....so well done you because it looks amazing xx hugs Amanda
ReplyDeleteIt was worth it Debby,it's really pretty...but to be honest, I enjoyed the story so much I kinda hope you do some more masking!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting Desk hon.
ReplyDeleteThe card is lovely too.
I simply don't see how you can say you're LAZY when you appear to lots of layering . . . which means lots of colouring and cutting out of images! Unless my eyes deceive me . . . your main characters always look raised up. xxx
