A Sunday Double

Over on Just Magnolia the challenge is to make your own flowers, I very often use various punches to make flowers simply because to get the right shade of a brought flower to match papers is really difficult. I tried to make some flowers that was on the link on someones blog, of course now I can't find it but you had to spritz them with water, well I tried it but on my cheap cardstock it didn't work too well but I did like how when all the funky flowers were put together. So it was the inspiration for these flowers.
The papers Making Memories and my MS Doily punch for the border. Remember me saying I had to buy a new one cos I wore the old one out, what you don't realise soon after I had a bit of clear out and threw out the wrong punch so on some landfill site is a brand new Doily punch and my purse is quite a bit lighter now that I had to buy yet another.
The sketch on Friday Sketchers this week is sponsor by dream2stamp and it just didn't seem right to use anyone elses stamp when I'm on their DT not that I had to but it was a brilliant excuse to use this turtle stamps. I still trying to think a card for a man not sure if it worked this time but I do love the colours which match the image. They're are Daisy Bucket papers and the sentiment is Clever cut.
Ok this is schedule post cos I'm off to Scrapbuddies at Mychett Community Centre in Surrey.

  20. The turtles are definately a masculine card so yes it did work. I think for some reason we all struggle with masculine cards, Have 1 to do this month as well. Now for your Magnolia...she is delicious...love the pinks which believe it or not is something I struggle with..Guess it has something to do with having all boys in the house. Well unless you count Ginger (she's the dog)...lol

  23. Lovely colours! And I can imagine that finding matching flowers for that peachy pink card was tricky... I think I've seen the tutorial you mention on Stampartic. They haven't given the post a title so I can't link directly to it, but it was posted September 12th, so it's currently almost halfway down on the front page. Here's a direct link to the original tutorial in Danish, the pictures are pretty self-explanatory though. I'm so anxious to try this tutorial out for myself!

Ok, going to stop writing now, sorry for babbling. I blame it on my fever. ;)

  46. Beautiful card, sorry to hear about the 'punch' problem. If you still have the defunct punch have you tried punching through wax paper (like a baking paper) sometime works is its stiff or to sharpen they say punching through foil works. Certainly cheaper that buying another lol.
