An Owl Birthday

I'm pretty sure there was a sketch involved but I made this card a few weeks ago and I can't work out whose it was.

Of course my little owl is from My Favourite Things called Warm and Feathered Hugs and I did indeed buy the dies too.

My Owl is encircled with Simon says Stamp Stitched Circles and the sentiment is again a Simon says Stamp It's no Secret. Now the papers I'm pretty sure they are Doodlebug French Kiss.

To decorate I used the leaves from Simon says Stamp Circle of Leaves, the trio of heart are also Simon says Stamp but their Small Heart Doily, the first two hearts are from the smaller heart in the die set. The third and other hearts are from Holiday Shapes.

I had a great time at the retreat last weekend, tiring but fun. I made 11 scrap pages and yes I do count a double layout as two. Some worked out well, some was to record a memory and some I could've done better. Now I need to get back to my craftroom and start making loads of cards to fill up my drafts again.

Time for Coffee

I was at a Scrapbooking/Cardmaking Retreat at the weekend and it took till yesterday to make a card and I kept it very simple.

The papers are Carta Bella I think and of course my image is from Mo Manning called Coffee.

I have sort of used a Mojo Monday sketch but changed the the main image to a rectangle using Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.

The flowers are a die I acquired with no name which is shame love to be able to tell you whose they are.

The sentiment is from Simon say Stamp but the tag was made using a Paper Piazza stencil that you draw round. This is what happens when you have to move things around to fit a large Gemini in your craft room, all kind of things turn up.

Anything Goes

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for Cute Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is
Anything Goes
We are showcasing Tim Holtz this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! You can join 5 times so you could have 5 chances to win! How AWESOME is that!! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance to win! Woo Hoo!! Good Luck to everyone! The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your crafty makes and will pop around to visit you ASAP!

Now while I have seen Tim Holtz Wildflowers Stems coloured in I fancied making a card just white and since I was short of time I thought this way would be quicker.

I also used the Wildflower Stems 2 for some of the leaves but the flowers were from the set above.
Normally I would use Simon says Stamp stitched Ovals but I always use them so for a change I used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.

I stamped possibly my favourite background stamp Quilted Hearts and embossed with Simon says Stamp Gold Embossing Powder.

Finally a sentiment specially for my Mum, using Best Mom from Simon says Stamp.

You may notice two photo of my card, mainly I'm getting tired of the wonky photographer and I took the photo laying flat, I may photo all my cards that way since you can see the one below I'm 5mm out all the time.

Oh no not more Crocheting

Finally my Blizzard Warning Blanket is done, I've used a Flat Braid Join, the tutorial I used was from here. She used 3 chains which give a holely border but I've seen one for 2 chains which mean't be better.

So on to my next blanket, this Seaside Winter Blanket vintage style, to be honest I was going to make another Helen Shrimpton design but it got throw across the room to many times to mention although at the time I wasn't 100%.

Just realised I haven't show my completed Lost Garden from Helen Shrimpton. Apologies for the wonky square its the angle and size made it awkward to photo, its a bit fuzzy too but that because the photographer as wonky hands.

I've subscribed to Crochet Now so I don't miss any while they do a CAL with Helen Shrimpton (can guess my favourite designer) and the gift was some fabulous Stylecraft Special DK to make it with. But I have an issue with Shrimp and that the rest of colours are solid apart from that blue fleck.

I also wanted it to be masculine rather than pretty colours so I've added Mustard instead of the pink and Storm for flecky wool. Yes I'm happy now, I think the my subscription copy comes early and should be this weekend.

Bunny with Basket

Yes it's Easter in my craftroom any excuse to use Mo's Bunny with Basket. I decided to use the MFT Stitched and matching Scallop die for edges, if you really carefully to can match the stitch line with the two layers did say a few choice words before they fell into place.

The papers are Echo Park Spring Fling and the daisies are MFT Upsy Daisy but not sure if they are made anymore. I think the leaves possibly are Cheery Lynn, all I know they are purple and my Gemini didn't like them much but I wasn't going to let a machine beat me. Lets not forget the LaLa Land Filigree corner again not sure if its still made.

Since I mentioned the Gemini I may as well let you know how I'm getting on with it. One thing I'm having to learn is patience it is quicker by hand but my shoulders are happier for not using my Big Shot. The only disadvantage I can see it when cutting out stamped images something I haven't done yet, oh there is another, its huge and as taken over my craftroom and with hindsight I should of gone for the Junior.

Falling Hippos

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Whatever the Weather and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is
CUTE
We are showcasing Clearly Besotted this week.
Lets be honest if its cute you want you can find plenty in my craft room, I can remember when I first started cards, if you made a cute card serious card makers were horrified. Thankfully not today.

Once I got over which cute Clearly Besotted stamp to use I decided Rainy Day Play and you can see the new Mary Poppins film as influenced me since I my hippos are falling from the sky. Using Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangle for my main image mat I inked the edges to give a impression of the sky and grass.

Usually when I colour I also chose my patterned papers this time I didn't and rather than spend ages to find one to match I made my own. I cut 1cm strips of some scraps of red, blue and yellow and stuck then onto thin card, cut down so the Simon says Stamp Scallop Frame from their Frames set to fit on top.

All that was left was to add a sentiment since I wanted a Birthday one and since the Simon says Stamp I'ts no Secret is fairly new to me I used one from that set.

Christmas Cards

They've increased my pain meds and even with anti sickness tablets I was still being ill so I didn't spend a lot of time in my craftroom. Hopefully I will get in there after I've got my ipad repaired tomorrow especially as I reverted back to my old dose.

So I found this post in my drafts some cards made up with some left overs. The first one is the bauble from Simon says Stamp called Ornate Ornaments . Finished of with the fab Believe die and matching stamp set.

Papers could be anyone's  just using some left over strips.

I had this Outline Snowflake left over and I wanted to use it so I added to a piece of card the same colour and stamped the sentiment from Yuletide Holiday, with WOW Bright White Opagne embossing powder.

I had planned to use this Snowflake Tag die for my tags, never mind will use it this year and well in advance. I added the Rina Snowflake to give it a bit more interest and I cut the centre circle out of the tag die and fussy cut round it. I stuck one stem down and folded it to make a card and once again I used a sentiment from Yuletide Holiday.

100% Boy

I made this layout at the last Scrap Cafe crop but I just needed to cut the 100% Boy to finish. My layout was inspired by one of Pinterest.

The papers are My Minds Eye but perfect for my nephew's shirt, can't believe how much he as changed especially in the last few years.

The stars are cut from either MFT or Spellbinders dies and the large arrow was draw round one that I had and cut out.

Need to get my some sketches sorted out for my layouts next week at Scrap Cafe Retreat, this time we are staying both nights, it didn't work out well last time only staying one night.

North Pole Penguin

I had this little MFT Sweet Holiday Penguin coloured up ready to make a card but when it came to making it could I find the stamp set which had the dies on a magnetic sheet on the back, so I had to carefully cut round him leaving a white border. Even more annoying I wanted to use my Gemini to see how I could get it to work.

For quicknest I used the Doodlebug Christmas Town which as the sheet of Christmas houses. In front I used Simon says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills and I used this fabulous signpost stamp from their Christmas Cheer stamp set which was in one of their monthly card kits. Sentiment was in the same set.

I think that signpost may be used quite a bit for my Christmas cards this year, after all I didn't use it much last year.

Feed the birds

Sorry for the late posting, better late than never and it would be a shame not posting my card earmarked for today.

I've used Mo's Feed the Birds and I've used some Echo Park Autumn papers. Pretty sure I've used the Splitcoast Sketch 739

It looks fairly busy but it wasn't really the fence and scallop border are old MFT die and the flowers are again MFT but more recent. The clouds are Puffy Clouds from Memory Box.

The sentiment is a Simon says Stamp on but the oval scallop is a punch from Stampin Up but I think that may have retired too.

Sunny Studio Rainbow

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Create a Scene Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is
Whatever the Weather
We are showcasing  Sunny Studio Products this week.
I made the background rainbow, well its sort of a rainbow, omitted the colours I didn't want. I made it with Distress Oxides.

The gorgeous frame die is called Frilly Frames Lattice from Sunny Studio, be prepared I loved how it worked out and will be used again.

I then used the beautiful Moments of Grace from Simon says Stamp for my sentiment and flower, I don't have the dies for the flower but thats been rectified and is sitting in my basket for my next spend.

The frame that I stamped the sentiment is from Simon says Stamp Frames but I drew round the die and fussy cut it out to give me a white border after the pink frame. To finish I added a couple of Simon says Stamp Holiday Shapes hearts.

James and Present

I found this chap hidden in my drafts, just as well as I haven't done much cardmaking lately, but I have earmarked tomorrow for it, today I need to colour some images

So this little bear is called James and is from LOTV, he is a digi not sure if he is still available as a stamp. I have not idea about the details since its a while since I made him.

The snowflakes are possible Simon says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes or they are Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes cut out of glitter card. My mixture of flowersoft and fun flock for the hat.

Sorry I can't remember the sentiment but in my head it was to say an old sentiment set from LOTV but I could be completely wrong. A flat bow to finish so it fits in normal post.

Boy Scrapbooking

Couple of layouts that I've done recently the one above is to go with the one made with the same papers and the photos were taken the same day.

I'm trying to use up embellishments that come with the collection pack rather than make my own. I'm hoping this will speed up the scrapbooking process.

I had to make my own embellishments, lucky I have this football die no idea where from and the star flourish says signature dies on the packet.

For Tim

I made this card a few weeks ago while it waited to be sent. I've used the image from Dr Digi called Mr Hoppy. I actually cut round the image to leave a white border since I knew I would be putting on pattern paper and the white edge helps it stand out.

I think the grass die and fence are both old MFT dies, the clouds are Memory Box Puffy Clouds and the sentiment is Simon says Stamps  also the stitched banner die.

No idea who makes the pattern paper since they are both scraps. Nearly forgot a bit of glossy accents to make the lens in his glasses.

Fresh Bloom

Have you seen the latest release from Simon Says Stamp, its called Fresh Bloom. I was lucky enough to be sent OutLine Floral Cross and you know I love all white cards.

I wanted the cross to stand out, so I cut the image three times I kept one outline but the rest I discarded except for the cross which I stuck together and then I cut it again with the Tim Holtz Woodgrain Texture Card for the final finish.

I cute my oval frame with Simon says Stamps Stitched Ovals and I used their Stitched Banners for the gold embossed words from Simon says Stamp Moments of Grace.

To distract the end of the banner I added the leaves from Simon says Stamps Forget Me Knot Flowers and the flowers are their Hydrangea Petal dies

Easter Greetings

Sorry I've been missing, having a cold bug that is doing the rounds and some furniture shopping means card making is taking second place at the mo. Hopefully back to normal although the doctors have changed my meds which gave me a bit of hic-cup yesterday.

Luckily I've a couple of Mo's cards waiting in my drafts this was is called Easter Greetings  and even better I can cheat with the colouring with a white rabbit costume.

I got out my favourite dies, like the Spellbinder Floral Oval with the La La Land Filigree Corners. Not sure if they are made now. The sentiment is an old LOTV stamp.

The flowers are some I got from Pink Frog at the Make It Show, it was part of the offer when ordering the Gemini which I still haven't had chance to play with yet.

Hoping to get some card making done over the weekend not even made a Christmas card for a fortnight either.
