This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Memory Box  Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

Now I really didn't need to buy anything especially for showcasing Memory Box but when I saw the Bamboo Shoots I knew I had a perfect die to go with it. Once again you canny shoppers have got there and its out of stock but although not Memory Box I reckon the Spellbinders Bamboo Party would work just as well.

The Simon says Stamp Picture Book Panda was made for these dies add a bit of blue Oxide background that I made for last weeks planes that I had left over. I added a bit of black card round it helped it pop even more.

The sketch I used is from a couple of weeks ago from CAS(E) this Sketch but I couldn't bring myself to not have a bit of white border on the top of the card. The birthday sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages.  I used the Tim Holtz platform since the stamps are fairly new and just in case I needed to stamp twice which in this case it worked a treat first time.

Shoot for the Moon

Simon says Stamp have recently added Visible Images to their shop and whilst some of card makers in the UK probably know about them already.

This is possible my favourite image Born to Perform, I stamped it using the Tim Holtz Platform first in a blue ink and then Versamark but before stamping covered up the areas I didn't want to stamp. I used  a clear embossing powder with a bit of sparkle which the camera fails to show.

The oxides background is from a pile a made for the plane cards last week seemed a shame to waste them so I used the Simon Says Stamp Shine on for the stars and sentiment. The sentiment is a favourite saying from SW consultant.

The bit of silver twine is from my stash, its actually from the wool department in a haberdashery department.

Magnolia

I wanted to record about the magnolia stick that never flowered for five years them bloomed giving us five flowers. It as bloomed every year now.

The papers are some old Kaiser ones and I kept the layout quite simple with black embellishments and black pearls.

I went to the Sincerly yours mini show at Bracknell didn’t realise how dear everything was although I brought a couple of Woodware stamps that I thought was very reasonable. I brought some dies especially for Men.

I get very tired these days probably the side effects from the pain patches especially if I push myself a bit harder than normal apparently it’s all about balancing!

Aeroplanes two

Since I used the modern plane for my card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and I always end up with more than one oxide background, I decided to use the old plane too.

So the stamp set is Lawn Fawn Plane and Simple but this time I also used Lawn Fawn Spring Showers. I cut the sun twice and cut the rays off to give my sun a rounder centre.

Of course I had to used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle for a great finish touch to the main mat and also the most used die in my craft room.

Scrappy

Has soon as I saw Scrappy from Mo Manning I knew he had to be in my image collection. He's such an easy chap to colour.

The papers are Doodlebug, no surprise there and I had these star dies out recently from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched shapes. I stuck them on red card and trimmed a little border round them.

I also used a permanent black pen to make some faux stitching and the sentiment is the one that lives on my desk and I made the fishtail banner with a square punch. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday from the other week.

Airplanes

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the add A Die Cut Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

Make Your Own Background

We are showcasing Lawn Fawn Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

So there I was about to make my background by masking the clouds and realising there was going to be a lot of clouds to mask before using  Broken China, Salty Ocean and Faded Jean Oxides to blend the sky.

What was I thinking we all know if there's a shortcut I will take it. So I blended the background all blue and used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I then took the Lawn Fawn Plane and Simple stamps and stamped my clouds on white card and fussy cut them out or if you prefer buy the dies.

I wondered how people coloured the planes so I checked google images and I could only find images using the old type of plane that also comes with stamp set. This made me decide for the modern plane and just colour the wing and tail fins. I stuck the blue ones one down (actually its one plane that I cut in half. I raised the red one using 3d pads.

Finally I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners and used one of the sentiments that came with the stamp set.

A little tip if like me you fussy cut the clouds and planes I recommend you use a Distress Pen in Pumice Stone, I use to one to hide some bad cutting out and to help them to stand out.

Oxide Rose

I wanted a Get Well card for a special crafty friend who has been in hospital since before Christmas, hope she is back crafting with the card ladies at the monthly crop I go to.

I already had some green smooch oxides so I made some pink ones but I didn't blend out the white. I then stamped Simon Says Stamp More Spring Flowers into the backgrounds then fussy cut them.

I love how my large bloom turned out, I also used the Simon says Stamp Summer Flowers to hide the ends of the other leaves. It was at this point I realised I needed to give the leaves some height because the proportions didn't look right.

So I put them in a vase that actually looks like a plant pot but may use the idea again. Its the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals and used the straight edge of the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banner to cut the top and bottom.

I used the Ovals to make the actual card for my bloom and I used a paintbrush and some watered down oxides to flick  over the card to make it more interesting rather than plain. The sentiment is a Paper Smooches.

Monkey Tail

While I made this card I was thinking that the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Monkey had something missing and I knew it was a tail. I mentioned that the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book cat had one that would work and its finally arrived in my craft room so I needed to see if it worked. Didn't know there are two monkeys till finding the links the other one is out of stock.

I decided to use this week's Splitcoast Stampers card sketch SC684 would work for my little monkey.
I made the frame using Simon says Stamp Stitched Squares using the wooden look paper from the  Echo Park I love Family I also used the paper with the Simon says Stamp stitched Rectangles for the main background mat and for behind the wooden frame.

For the leaves I used the Simon says Stamp Circle of Leaves but I just cut the leaves out. I double mounted the sentiment and stuck the leaves stems behind the banner. The stamp set I used for the tiny birthday sentiment was Simon says Stamp Sketched Ranunculus.

I personally think my monkey tail is perfect.

Hugs

Now that Valentines is over I wanted to use Need You image from Mo Manning to prove she could be used all year round and made a Thinking of You with a modern sentiment.

I had to cut her out making a white border since I knew I was going to put her directly onto patterned paper and it helps to see the image.

The papers are Echo Park Happy Birthday and I used a white strip with the tiny scallop border to give a nice finish between the two papers. A bit of ribbon with my flat bow, conscious of the charge for postage these days.

The flowers are from a die and the centres are a combination of punches and my Cropadile, using black to match the flowers on the floral paper. Sentiment is using Simon Says Stamp Sending die and matching stamps. The fish tail banner is made with using a square punch for the ends.

Add a Die Cut

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the It Must be Love Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

Add A Die Cut

We are showcasing Penny Black Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

Although I do have some Penny Black dies, I wanted to use an image since I haven't coloured up a Penny Black for ages. This doggy is from one of their clear sets called Happy Times and I cut round him leaving a white border so he would stand out from the pattern paper.

The patterned paper is Echo Park Birthday Boy, on the dotty one I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and then used the Wavy Stitched Scallop Border die but cut off the scallops. I then cut the red card twice with the border die. Which I added to the dotty paper and then trimmed round to leave a border.

I cut the stars out of Simon Says Stamp Bundle Stitched Shapes and then stuck them on red card, cut and trimmed round the stars to make a border. I did the same with the Simon says Stamp Stitched Banners but I used the largest tag to cut the end to the length I wanted. Can I say that the way the banner matches the paper underneath wasn't done intentionally mere luck.

Finally I used the fab Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die but I cut it twice once in red and another in green. Then I overlapped them to give them a bit of shadow and to show up more.

Bauble Christmas

Another Christmas card thats in my drafts this time I used some Bauble dies from Simon Says Stamp with Glitter card.

The frame is another Simon Says Stamp but not sure its still available, I know its a bit tricky to make sure the bit of white on the R and A shows. I have to put a bit of acetate behind so I can stick them into their places. Since I did this card at a crop before Christmas I didn't bring any with me, so I had to use a plastic wrapper of some gems I had.

Bit of patterned paper and plain card stock to bring a bit more colour to a majority white card.

Last week was very busy, add a return of motion sickness for a day, no cards were made during the week but I did manage some DT work over the weekend. Just need to load them to the PC.

Crochet wise, the shawl I made with some Lion Brand Mandala didn't quite turn out how I wanted but I will get round to photo that. The Beach huts are still a WIP having to change my rice bags to stone pebbles but I have nearly all the stone bags stitched but an urgent project as interrupted crocheting.

For my Daughter

I knew Derby Girl from Mo would be perfect for my DD Birthday card, I've had the image for a while but her hair as put me off.  It was tricky with the blue pigtails, yellow and blue together make green. I use pencils so I don't know if it was easier with copics. In the end I think it turned out OK.

The papers are some old Taylors Expression and I used a card on Pinterest for the sketch although the tag was on the other side but in my case there wasn't enough room that side. My tag I made using a circle punch to get the curved edge.

Its been a busy week so far and I haven't made it into my craft room and there's a cute image waiting on my desk to be made.

Some Bunny

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

It Must Be Love

We are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

My card today just developed, I first I made the back with Oxides. I used Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry and Antique Linen. I then used the Simon says Stamp Stitched Rectangles obviously when it was dried.

I then used the little hearts from the Simon Says Stamp Choose Happy, first with Versamark and then with the Ranger Enchanted Gold embossing powder.

Background done I now needed to decorate, I kinda wanted to use this bunny from the Simon Says Stamp Somebunny he's so cute. I only coloured in the pink areas and because some bunny didn't buy the dies I had to cut round one of stamped bunnies and left a bit of a white edge. I then layered the ears, body and feet.

I also knew I wanted to stamp the Some Bunny sentiment so out came another essential item in my craft room the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners, it would work for the bunny to sit on too. I found I had enough scraps of the background for my heart sentiment which then completed my banner.

Another essential craft item my Simon Say Stamp Clustered Leaves it comes along to the Craft Crop I go to each month, its a perfect size for layouts but I had to cut it so enough leaves showed up from behind my banner.
