Jolly Critters

I was determined to have a card today but it was touch and go, with a busy weekend and maybe trying to do too much I've had an up and down week. I quickly coloured in these little critters quickly and made a very quick card.

I used the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Circle for my image and the since I had some Lawn Fawn Lets Polka in a Meadow still out by desk (actually I'm using the radiator for a shelf for the summer) I used a sheet of that.

I cut out the paper with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Bundle of Shapes and then I laid out the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes. I used the three attached and the other small ones are actually Lawn Fawn ones. I placed the dies on my Big Shot so I didn't have to move them to cut out.

The sentiment was in the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cats, again they hadn't been put away from making my Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card.

My Sister and my Niece came over yesterday to work out a style of cards for her Wedding. She was struggling to find the right colour ribbon and I found the perfect colour in my stash. We ended up making Save the Date cards and I style which can follow through all the invites, order of service, name cards etc. My friend Nikki is coming over to brainstorm how to make the wedding favour boxes using her box board punch. Promised my daughter to wash, frame her cross-stitch this weekend too. Not sure there will time for making cards!!!!!

Bubble Fairy

I love Mo's fairies and the more endowed fairies are a firm favourite so I was really pleased to see the new Bubble Fairy she was definitely coming home to my PC.

I was lucky to find the Bubble papers from a Kaisercrafts pack and since my Mojo is a bit worn out this week I settled for some Stitched Clouds from La Laland. I remembers a die I brought for my Harry Potter scrapbook pages from Waffle Flower but it was also perfect for my fairy sentiment.

I couldn't find my small Birthday stamp so I confessed to cutting of the other words to make a single Birthday word stamp.

I've struggled this week to make cards and I wanted to go shopping yesterday but we decided I needed a break and shouldn't keep pushing myself. Especially has my niece is visiting me on Friday to work out how she wants to make her wedding cards and I promised my daughter to get her cross-stitched into frames this weekend.

I've used two paper pads from Lawn Fawn and I love how they work together. I've used Perfectly Plaids and Lets Polka in the Meadow.

I also used Lawn Fawn Flower Border and paper pieced by cutting the both paper pack with the die as well as the green.

The Stitched Rectangle is from Simon Says Stamp works brilliantly with the Avery Elle Sweet Scallops. My Stitched Circle which in my mind is the sun, is also Simon says Stamp.

Now my Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cats are not just for Christmas, I paper pieced them using the dies for a guide for placement.

Finally I needed a sentiment but my mojo was feeling tired and decided to find a die which in this case is a Penny Black die to help it pop I used some White Fun Foam, also thought it would look good for the centre of my flowers.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

50th

I was really pleased how this turned out, I cut the numbers out using Stampin Up number set, twice in white card and once in the patterned. The American road sign was found on google image and printed out to be used as a template. The banner also came from the number set.

The papers are Doodlebug but I had used the red stripe so I had to settle for this one. As you can see I'm trying to get the USA Flag of sorts for my Niece's Husband's birthday. She has planned to take him to New York later this year and had a red, white, blue theme surprise BBQ party.

We had booked into the hotel down the road so Hubby could drink and not drive. We had a fabulous time and the following day we popped by to drop something off to my Sister who was helping to clear up. Only to be invited to help eat the left overs and watch Neil open all his cards and presents.

Crochet

I realised I haven't taken the photos of my HP pocket pages but I have made a couple small crochet items. First is Olaf unfortunately he's had a hair cut and I'm not too sure on the rather large nose.
The pattern said to stick the mouth on with a hot glue gun, I do have one......in safe place! So I stitched it on.

Sorry for the awful photos.

Here's my Jellyfish, my tentacles are bit tooooo random but its first attempt so he will be better next time. ( I cheekily cut off the odd long tentacle with my camera)

Finally my little kitten he is quite small but he is the Daddy and the largest, hate to think how small the baby ones is.

You have to really concentrate to do all the increasing and decreasing so I've brought some more wool to make another blanket for those time when I can't ignore people and conversation!

Flowerpot Kitten

I'll try not moan what wrong with my card but I'm trying to find alternative for the snowflake punch. The sketch is now last week's Sketch Saturday but I've put my fishtail banners on the outside of my image mat.

Of course the papers are the fabulous Polar Pals from Doodlebug did warn you I've brought two pads.

The Stitched fishtail Banners, Stitched Circle are both Simon Says Stamp dies so it the smaller stars which from their Bundle of Stitched Shapes and the snowflakes are theirs too, Stitched Snowflakes. The large star is MFT Stitched Star dies.

The image is of course Penny Black called One Scoop and for a change I add some glitter mainly because the glitter was on my desk. Last of all the sentiment is again Simon Says Stamp again because I hadn't tidied away the Retro Christmas stamp set.

Busy weekend again this time I'm going to a class that Nikki and her friend Collette arranged and then I'm going to a family BBQ(its actually to celebrate someones Birthday who thinks its just a family BBQ but there loads more people planning to be there.)

Kit Flowers

I stamped and embossed in white on the Simon Says Stamp June kit and then I run out of time to make the card!

Its about the only thing I made this week, badly affected with the heat.  I used the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles for my middle base card and stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Uplifting thoughts.

The heart paper was from the kit and the blue centres are also from the kit.

Sorry for the short and sweet post, I've just seen the time and I need to get ready for swimming and will add links later.

Summer

Not my best idea to schedule my post in one of the hottest room in the house even with the blinds and curtains shut so apologies if my Blog Hop post is short and sweet.

The theme this month is for Fun in Sun and since I've recently used Lacie it was only right I should use Justin's Ice Cream. He was nice and easy to colour, also to layer. In keeping with that I decided a CAS card.

I used Echo Park for the papers and La La Land Sun and Clouds die, the clouds are using fun foam.

The sentiments are both Simon Says Stamp and so is the Ice Cream die.

Now you should have arrived from Gaynor's blog and after me you need to pop over to Lou's. Don't forget to comment along the way to be in with a chance of winning one of the two vouchers to use in Mo's Shop.

I love Doodlebug especially their papers, I'm forever buying another paper pack for example I have brought two of these fabulous Polar Pals packs.

I decided to buy the Penny Black Snow Fairies for Things with Wings it also meant because I layer my images I could stamp the group and no-one would see the overlapping lines when I had finished.

So once I had my group of fairies stamped I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Oval, I also used used the negative. I had scraps left over so I decided on using the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Banners and cut down to fit my card.

My Snowflakes are Simon Says Stamps Abby, Maryanne  and Stitched Snowflakes with a gem for their centres. Not forgetting I actually die cut them out of fun foam.

Nearly forgot I added some fun flock to my snowballs to give them texture.

For Mum

I saw this fabulous card on Pinterest  this is my take unfortunately there's a lot wrong with it and I'm not sure at the moment whether I will use it or not.

Things that are wrong, I folded the corner of two layers of card and thin pattern card. Trust me this doesn't work, I would have been better to cut the corners of the patterned and contrast card. Because the fold doesn't work well I couldn't get the right angle and for quickness I decided to use a peel off sentiment which now looking at it I don't like.

I like the papers which are LOTV old ones, like my La Laland corner dies and I like my butterfly. I guess I will be making another, maybe CAS.

I can tick off a couple of cards that are done for DT and I've made another male/boy card but I still have Wedding ones as well as my DT for next week. Add a busy weekend more CAS cards needed.

Oh no not another One Layer

Seriously this is really is the last time I do and one layer card unless I'm forced. We having a mid month reminder on Penny Black Saturday Challenge so pop over and check out some one layer gorgeousness.

This is actually a Penny Black Clear Stamp Set called Tutu Sweet, I do have the digi but I would go for the other ballerina in the set because this little cuties hair is tricky to cut and layer. Also I am far too lazy to add the ballet shoes and sentiments using the PC.

Colouring and One Layer are tricky too you have to keep in the lines but colour up to lines. To make the card a bit more interesting I paper pricked round the card.

Fingers crossed the weather will stay dry but it looks like it may be cloudy, there's the Farnborough Air Show BBQ planned at my sisters house. Not sure how much we will see since the rules about where the planes are fly have changed.

The Bride

I have to make a couple of Wedding cards for my grown up children. I will probably end up making a few for them to chose from but whats the betting they both what this one with Mo's The Bride and I end up making two.

I have to thank my team-mate Gaynor on the Dream Team for the frame idea she embossed round the image on this card. Since I far to lazy to emboss first and layer my image I used the Spellbinder Die to cut out the centre them embossed. Then I cut round the frame and used a rounded corner punch.

The papers are from Stampin Up they are so pretty and perfect for a Wedding card. Usual details ribbon and my favourite lace. The Ivy is a die from Creative Expression I think and the Congratulations is a Simon Says Stamp die, cut from white twice and then the navy. One down more to go.

Make a Scene Card

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Photo Inspiration Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

Create A Scene

We are showcasing Newton's Nook Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

Although the whole of my card isn't a scene I created a scene within the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle using the cute Newton Nook Unwinds stamp. In all I used four stamps from the set. The two cats, an extra ball wool and the sentiment.

The papers are Doodlebug Sweet Things and the Stitched Border is from Lawn Fawn, the whole  card was finished by using the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Stamp.

Finally I added the needles from the Memory Box Knitting Supplies. In hindsight I should of made a slit in the large ball of wool and slid them in but hey ho.

If you follow Simon Says Stamp on Twitter, FB or Instgram you will be seeing a countdown even I don't know what it is. Can't wait to see the surpise.

Hello Ice Cream

A card made with snippets the zig-zag Doodlebug paper is left over from the card yesterday and the spot paper is also left over from the Simon Says Stamp ice creams. I had to make the yellow tops but the mint green one was left in the die from goodness knows when.

Luckily I had a scrap of the green in my scrapbox but I did have lot of scraps to go through for the Simon Says Stamp Hello die.

The sketch is CAS(e) this sketch #180 but the ice cream have hidden the gap between the papers but I stuck the cones with sticky glue and I couldn't move them. I did make the gaps with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched fishtail banner dies.

Hopefully since I made this card with scraps I can enter this card on Pixie Snippets Playgroup wk 237 cos there are PB stamp to be won and I wanted it to be me. You can win if you not in it!

Summertime

The last challenge on Everybody Art Challenge is for Summer but don't worry we are just on a summer break and we will be back after the Summer Hols.

Mo has some wonderful Summer images and not just Lacie here isn't she cute. I've used Doodlebug one of my favourite paper companies I especially love their tiny patterns they use on their 6 inch pads.

Once I decided on the layout I then decided to use the Ice Cream Cones from Simon Says Stamp, they also made the Summer die. The butterflies are punched out, I think maybe its a Kars punch it wasn't that expensive when I brought and I'm surprised that several years later it still works.

Don't worry I will try to make sure there will be a card for Tuesday so I don't get out of the routine of making a card.

Yesterday I impressed myself with one boys/mans card done and Mid Month Challenge card done and a wedding card almost done.

Canary Angel

Well this is the last card in my drafts and do have some more to photo which I will do so this morning.

This is the card I made but forgot I was suppose to use a sketch but I'm glad I didn't use the sketch the angle didn't deserved a busy card.

So I simply used the LOTV papers there are not many left now, I even used the papers for the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettias they are a die by the way.

I used the Crochet border die from MFT and I used my favourite lace which I need to source cos I need some more.

I used the some glamour dust for her the Saturated Canary Angel wings and the stars are memory box.

I still have a couple of cards for this week DT commitments but I've 2 male birthday, 1 female Birthday and 2 wedding cards to make. So I'm trying to sneak them in between the DT work because I'm itching to do some more scrapbooking and Olaf has a body now but apparently he has feet!

Scrapbooking

I didn't have that many photos of my Mum's last Birthday, I do remember is was a lovely day and we took over the front garden at the Nursing Home. Not all the family could make it which in hindsight they would have cancelled them if they knew it was Mum's very last Birthday.

The papers are Carpe Diem from Simple Stories, they were actually left over from the renewing their vows. Simon Day Says Stamp Stitched Daisies they are a perfect size for Scrapbooking. The leaf swirl I think could be Cheery Lynne but I do chop it up to suit.

I actually made a card yesterday ready for a challenge and I had some random bit left over so rather than waste them I made a card. Also I had stamped and embossed on some coloured card a while ago so I decided to use them so that meant I made three cards go me. I do have an awful lot of colouring to do for some challenges coming up but Olaf's head is complaining about his missing body!

Failure

So here's my Penny Black one layer failure, I keep looking at the bodies of my red robins I think I could have left it white and maybe I shouldn't of blended colour over the snowflakes. Still in two minds that the best place for this card should be the bin.

But on my blog you get warts and all and this card will remind me not what not to do.

So last week was Penny Black Saturday July Challenge and I would have chosen a winner for my Birthday Candy but I was in Spain so I plan to do it now.

Chill

There's a new challenge on DP2 challenge and I had to get and use Chill. I need to be making at least one or two a week Christmas cards a week otherwise it going to be a hard slog to get them all done.

I used the Doodlebug Christmas papers from last year they still available, I know this because I brought another pad simply love the non christmas colours.

To help with time I used fun foam for my snowflakes and snowflake banner both from Simon Says Stamps. The little button is an old MFT die so not sure its made anymore but lots of companies usually have a button die.

To finish I used my mixture of Fun Flock and Flowersoft, not sure Flowersoft is still going but I have at least another pot of white.

Since she blowing warm air out in the cold I thought it should be glitterly rather than using the above mixture.

Remember the Add the Shimmer challenge from a couple of weeks ago well this is the other card I made. It worked brilliantly with the Photo Inspiration challenge this week and I knew it would save me some time while making cards in advance for when I was away on my holibobs.

I used Lindy's Gang Shimmer Spray and Magicals but first I stamped the leaves and bubbles from Simon Says Stamp Look for the Miracles stamps in Versamark and embossed in WOW white embossing powder. Then I watered down some magicals to make the colourwash. I blotted over the white to make sure it showed up and while I coloured the leaves with the magicals too.

Once I was happy I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to give my card a finished look. The sentiment I used Simon Says Stamp Smile die and the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile stamp set.

Oh nearly forgot my fish I stamped the fish from the Simon says Stamp Special Dad stamp and die set and coloured in with the magicals. I didn't use the dies but fussy cut them out, with all this messy stuff I was losing the will to craft and I wasn't as careful as I should of been when I painted them.

While Mr Blogger post this schedule post I will staring in the sky for my plane to arrive to take me home from Spain.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting
