90th

There was me thinking it the first Saturday of May luckily I remembered it the last day of April before posting next weeks card. Thankfully I still have a Penny Black card to post possibly my favourite flower stamp which I alway seem to paper-pieced.

The papers are some old Kaiser ones and I used my favourite things like ribbon and lace, not forgetting the fabulous Spellbinders Floral Oval but before I take out the die I draw round the inside and cut it out.

There is a bit of a error in the sentiment that I saw before sticking the envelope down and added th but didn't have time to photo it again. The Happy Birthday and numbers are Simon Says Stamp dies.

The centre of the flowers are tiny beads that I buy on e-bay but they're for nail decoration but are very similar to the Accent Beads you used to be able to buy. A few pearls on the corners of the rose paper and my job is done.

The card was duly hand-delivered at the surprise party for my Auntie Jane who was married to my Mum's brother.

Sending you Love and Hugs

I needed a male get well card but its possible this wasn't the end of his treatment so rather than using a get well sentiment I used the Simon Says Stamp Sending die with the stamped love and hugs.

I decided to use the boat die from Simon Says Stamp along with the splashy waves die which I haven't really used much. I was really please that the sea die fitted inside the Stitched Rectangles so I could have a frame.

I used Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Skies stamps and die for my clouds and it has those fab bird stamps. To finish I used the large rectangle in Simon Says Stamp Stitched Bundle of Shapes. I then backed it with the red and white paper that came from the Doodlebug Anchors Away pad which also had the bubbles and not forgetting I paper-pieced the sails on the boat.

Frost

I saw a wonderful card by one of my team mates from Mo's Dream Team. you can see it here. As soon as I saw it I thought I could do this. The sweet image is called Frost it is possible that you will see her again and again before the years out.

I had a background die from Taylorers Expression as you can see it works a treat. I added the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Frame you can make with two of the dies. I'm not sure if Hellen had used this but I added a layer of acetate to help my image to be layered.

At the time of making I was in a bit of a rush so I grabbed a snowflake die and cut it out fun foam which gives me dimension and I cheated with the sentiment I used a peel off.

All credit with Hellen she makes some fabulous cards.

Another day shopping looking for boxes for the new shelves so I can move my stuff out the drawer cupboard that almost blocking the hall.

50dollar_voucher_600px

Mmmm late evening sun is probably not the best time to take a photo the cream colour is suppose to white!
Anyway I love this Stampendous Daisies Mix Cling Stamp and you can buy the dies to match if you don't like cutting them out but you know I love fussy cutting.

So I started out colouring my Daisies and I still have another Turquoise and Pink still to use did I say I love Daisies. I stamped and coloured two for the petals and one for the centre, the second one for the petals I cut off what look like petals behind petals.

Then it was a case of playing with different styles, the first I decided to place my daisies inside the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Squares Die and also used the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Wavy Scallops borders to give a bit of interest. I layered the top and some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite then used Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes over the two.

Finally I added the Scallop Mat from Avery Elle Sweet Scallop and the sentiment came from Simon Says Stamps Stamp Birthday Messages.

This card was made the same way but I used the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles the largest the set has and it means you could see more of the Avery Elle Scallop background. Also the sentiment came from Simon says Stamps Handwritten Greetings.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Mr and Mrs

Time for another challenge on Everybody Art Challenge this on is for Wedding and I got the chance to use my Mr & Mrs stamp from stamping up. I embossed it silver but I had to do it twice because I had stamped on the linen side of the card and it didn't quite stamp that well. So once I used the heat gun once I quickly added more powder to heat it again.

I used a Spellbinder die but before I took off the centre die I blended some colour round the the edges and then I embossed the words. I also add some sticky pads to raise the centre.

I stick the outside die cut to the paper which I think is an old sheet from Stampin Up, then cut round the edge and stuck onto another white card for a border.

Do pop over and check out the team, hope you can join us this week.

Golden Wedding Anniversary

One of the cards I've made recently that I had to wait till the person receives it. It does look rather busy but in real life its not that bad.

First of all I embossed two Bricked by Tim Holtz you may be wondering why two, the reason is simply I made a square card and the folder is for a rectangle. My join is under the ribbon which I wish I just used my white grosgrain but it was stuck and wasn't going to be moved.

My Arch Window is from Spellbinders back with gold and the numbers I think are Simon Says Stamp numbers but I cut them twice and layered.

My flowers are Memory Box Fresh Foliage and the flowers are memory box too along with Weeping Willow finish with some gold pearls. The sentiment is LOTV that is gold embossed.

Glad to hear the couple who received it loved it.

So this was the empty alcove in the dining room that had three shelves on bars at the back, which housed the PC and a lot of other stuff.

Here's the alcove now looks much nicer although the fitter was annoyed that the display shelf in between the glass cupboards wasn't bubbled wrapped like the bookshelf and was damaged. But it should arrive this week and his is making sure it does because he doesn't get paid till the job is finished.

The other stuff apparently isn't allowed back so muggins here has to find new homes for everything. I have one little cupboard that now has 6  7lt really useful boxes full of Penny Black stamps and I've even sorted out some to give away. Now I have to find somewhere for the next 12 drawers of crafty stuff.

Bubbles and Balloons

Last two layouts for my Mum and Dad renewing their wedding vows this time some of my great niece and nephews. First of my Gt Niece keeping the youngest Gt Nephew amused with some bubbles. The camera has made by bubble stand out more which is not the case in real life.

Balloon and Bubbles were the order of the day to keep the little ones amused and my layout I decided stars and balloons were the way to go.

Panda Bear Hugz

Goodness me another card for today, Simon Says Stamp has a new release called My Favourite and they very kindly sent me a stamp with cuddly animals on called Cuddly Critters.

So it was only right that I made a quick card especially has my eye went straight to the cute Panda and I knew I had to get out my Memory Box Bamboo Shoots and to make the bit of grass is MFT grass fields die.

Of course the stitched card is Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles and Bundle of Shapes die. That just leaves the papers which I think are MFT Tranquil Textures .

Last thing I did was to stamp the sentiment in the corner which was from the Simon Says Stamp Abby's Spring Showers which was perfect and for some reason on my desk.

There's a blog hop using the new release which you will find here.

Simon Says Stamp Blog

Balloon Kitty

I actually chose this stamp to see if it would work with yesterday's sketch but since I decided on the other stamp I couldn't not use this chap.

The sketch is a Freshly Made Sketch from a couple of weeks ago and with the help of the matching paper pieced balloon in my image I think it works.

Very simple with only a few dots punched out and embossing then stuck on in the plain white corner.
Finished of with a sentiment that lives on my desk stamped directly onto the card and its straight.

I sitting at a lovely new desk that as been fitted into a dining room alcove and we were lucky with our fitter who knew he onions. He was gutted when he found out a display shelf was damaged but he's ordered another and he lived local so he will be back next week with it.

Some of the wall needs a touch of paint so I can't fill it up with stuff and photo's will be coming soon.

Balloon Hedgie

Yes I've made a card for a challenge and its not a week later but actually in time to enter it. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday and I found what I though would be a perfect stamp to fit in the odd shape mat.

Now when I layer my images I like to have an image has a guide and this I have to use a
Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure I place that guide image right. I think I can give myself a pat on the back because I don't think I could of placed it any better.

Of course my image is a Penny Black Hedgie and once layered I paper pieced the balloon with the pink dotty paper. The paper is some odds and ends that I bundled together when I was sick a few weeks ago.

I did use a tiny scallop die from MFT  and the sentiment is Paper Smooches.

Now all I can hope that once the PC has been put back it all works. I shall post a picture now I should be back online and I should actually see how big my cupboard is for putting all nine drawers of craft stuff is.

p.s. Don't worry I've another Penny Black for tomorrow.

Die Cutting

Its time for another Blog Hop and this time Alice has chosen possible my favourite theme of
 Die-Cutting.

I decide to use Spit Happens to see how it looks in pink, I know most babies have little hair but she still reminds me of  a boy!

So how many dies could I used on one card in the end I did cheat a little with my flowers being made with punches. First of I used my circle nestablilities and then used MFT Crochet Border which made the border round the circles, I love how this border butts up against the next one so you only have to hide one join.

The fancy die down the side is either Marianne or Joy not sure which but its blue die. The other die is from Memory Box and it the corner flourish that as a few dots on which cried out for pearls. Already mentioned the flowers and the sentiment is from LOTV but its not a die but two stamped and cut out then layered.

Sorry no idea who the papers are from they are odds and ends I have put together and only had enough for this card.

So back to the Blog Hop so you should of Hop Skipped and Jumped from Gaynor and now you need to do the same over to Lou and don't forget to comment along the way there's two random prizes taken from someones comments.

We are showcasing HERO ARTS PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

My card turned into a clean and simple one, I did try to make a background but they all ended in the bin but I'm actually please how it turned out.

So first of all I'm using Hero Arts Antique Rose Stem, I stamped three in the pink inkpad and I stamped two in green. One with plenty of space round for me to cut out with a Simon Says Stamps Stitched Circles this gave me a guide for layering my rose. The other green image was for the leaves and I used the green inkpad to colour my leaves and buds.

Before I layered I cut another stitched circle the largest one I made the frame for this gave me a backing for the stitched circles to sit on. I then using the Simon Says Stamps Bundle of Stitched Shapes for the large rectangle worked out where my rose would be and stamped using the brilliant Simon Says Stamps Reason to Smile verses.

That left me to layering the rose and back the main mat in pink.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Left Over

Oh yes an extra card this week although this is a bit of failure, I actually made for a background for the card I'm posting today at 2pm but I didn't think it worked so rather than waste it I made a card.

I used the Splitcoast Stampers sketch SC588 but I'm kicking myself for making my strips a bit on the large size. The stamp are Simon Say Stamps Roses for You and I'm actually using the heart because I'm far too lazy to use the single ones. Coloured in using green and pink inkpads.

Then I used the Simon Says Stamps Bundle of Shapes which will be worn out the times I've used and not far behind are the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles. Not sure how many times I can use this sentiment from Simon Says Stamps Reason to Smile but I need to get it out of my system.

All White

A new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge starts today and its one of my absolute favourite White.

For its a case of getting all my favourite dies, Memory Box Tender Fir, Botanical Branch to make my leafy backing and I love the Simon Says Stitched Daisies, all cut out in white.

I also have in my stash some pearls on acylic stems so I added three of those. Now my sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Reason to Smile and I love all the different verses. I stamped it in Silver pigment then using silver embossing powder embossed it. No I didn't, first I used the Stitched Rectangle die then stamped the verse.

Do pop over to the challenge and check out the team also hope you can join us this week.

So my job today is to prepare all my post up to Friday and any other jobs on the PC because later this afternoon its all being unplugged. I can keep the router on but even that has to been taken off tomorrow. I have fitters to build a home office in the alcove in the dining room lucky for me I will be hiding in my craftroom.

For Keith

I had to make a mans card and I was inspired by friend Nikki who loves inky stuff, I'm never happy when I go inky but this card didn't turn out too bad.

First I used the world map from Stampin Up, added a bit of colour to land and sea, also added a couple of small coffee stains and as you can see I torn round the edges so I could ink round.

I them made my life saver using  a wood grain stain again from stamping up but I also cut out a frame with plain card too, cut out a top and bottom and stuck on the woodgrain frame then added string.

I think the boat came from Open Sea stamps from Stamping Up, the birds are Simon Says Stamp Cloud Skies

Now was the time to put it together with the map, decided to add a bit of a colour border trying to tear match didn't work quite as well as I like but I think I got away with it. I used the woodgrain stamp again for the main front of the card for my map and main image to be stuck to.

Added more string for a border and cut out a memory box anchor attached it to the life saver, LOTV sentiment with stampin up punches and a reasonable mans card done.

Now they card has reached its destination and past my BIL birthday I can now press the publish button.

The Kiss

Two more pages of my parents renewing their vows, still using Carpe Diem from Simple Stories but the first one is from Kaiser I think. My friend and I were looking at the new papers that Lorraine had at The Scrap Cafe crop didn't I mention she has a shop, but the words were perfect for the layout and had to be used.
I now wish I had put the Magical more central but its probably well stuck now.

So here is the group picture of my brothers and sister, the title is a reminder how my Mum loved her soaps and I'm pretty sure there was an Australian one many years ago called Sons and Daughters on at lunchtime that she used to watch.

I have a couple of more and all the photos I wanted to scrap are done but you will have to wait till next week.

Gardening Kitty

I'm pretty sure I've used a similar sketch recently but if it works don't change it my new motto. Not sure my tiny spotty flowers work but why things look Ok till you load it on your blog.

The papers are Doodlebug and of course my kitty is Penny Black which brings me to remind people we are half way through the Penny Black Saturday April Challenge of Showers or anything you can think of that is to do with showers. My kitty is wearing wellies and everyone knows that in between the showers you get a peek of sunshine and that the garden starts to wake up.

Back to the card I'm waffling again, time to use my favourite die from Memory Box Fresh Foliage and the dotty flowers are a memory box die too.

My scallop stitched wavy border is from Simon Says stamps which had become a firm favourite and has been promoted to living on my desk.

Crazy

Remember I said I made another dotty card here it is, this time I used Tim Holtz Crazy cat. I just had in my head that the poor cat was a bit shocked to see a ball of wool as big as him.

I used Lets Polka in the Dark from Lawn Fawn for the cat and green background as well as diagonal strip for the scallop edging which was an Avery Elle die.

The ball of wool is from Memory Box die that I stuck to the same colour card then cut round it to give it a bit of dimension. Once again I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to make a frame with the Simon Say Stamps Wavy Stitched Scallop Border to make the green carpet.

To finish I used the Avery Elle Crazy die which I also have the stamp but decided just to use the die for now.

Now I'm sure this is the last busy week for a while, on Tuesday we had a Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Ritz, a Christmas Present from my daughter where we were treated like Royalty. Hair done on Wednesday and sitting by the phone yesterday. You may wonder what I mean by the phone, but one of my brothers under went surgery yesterday but he's OK and but has to have further treatment with chemo. So I'm looking for a few quiet days but first I have to go swimming this morning!

Baby Girl

I don't make cards to order but now and again I find myself in how can I possibly say No especially has they were for a Baby card and a Wedding card two of my favourite occasions to make cards.

The baby card has you can see was obviously a girl but I've removed the baby's details because I believe that they are not for me to give out. I printed the details in pink and as you can see I used my circle nestabilitie to make a circle and frame.

I used a Martha Stewart Round the Page punches which I haven't used for ages afterwards I knew why. The papers are LOTV and I used another punch I don't use much Leone Em for the leaves and the daisies are Upsy Daisy from MFT.

The hanging heart is Memory box there are two but I thought one was better than trying to squeeze in another. Of course the image is one of Mo's called Babygirl S and to finish the image I used a Wink of Stella on the babies petticoat and lacey jacket.
