Scooter Hedgie

I know its suppose to be a Valentines image but I think it works all the year round. The little PB Hedgie on his scooter is called Sweet Ride  and the papers I think are American Crafts.
I used the Stitched Rectangles for the image mat and the Bundle of shapes for the outer mat. Then I used the Wishing die along with the sentiment from the Sending and Wishing stamp set.
My stitched scallops going across my card are from Lawn Fawn.
Like I said yesterday a CAS card but at least I getting back on the horse!

White with Wings

Woo Hoo I made a card, yes I know its CAS but its still a card and I made another for tomorrow too so things are definitely on the mend.
The card came together because this large Cluster leaf die from Simon Says Stamps is on my desk having cut a few for a scrapbook page before the virus took hold.
I've cut it in green and white and overlapped them. I decided to used the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles for the centre panel and the bit of twine since this looked like the Freshly Made Sketch.
I stamped the sentiment after I had put everything together and to my horror is didn't stamp cleanly at all. Rather than chuck it in the bin I got a black pen drew the bits missing so unless you looking real close it looks OK.
I very naughtily add a couple of Simon Says Stamps Songbirds so I could add it to the Less is More Challenge for Wings but I feel a bit guilty its not quite what they looking for.

Baby Girl

I think you can scrub away the man from ManFlu cos I've never coughed so much or feel so rough. I do feel now I'm on the mend but my energy levels are nil.
This card was in my drafts, I haven't made a card for over a week. I made it for a challenge then realised I got the challenge wrong.
First of all the baby is from Mo and the lovely pink papers are from LOTV. You can see I've used from favourite branch die from Memory Box and the fab MFT Crochet die for round the circle mat. The corners finished with the La LaLand die.
Fingers crossed I get to spend some time in my craftroom without coughing or falling alsleep.

I have used the fabulous set from Lawn Fawn called Friendship Grows and although I have the dies as well there's nothing more therapeutic then cutting out. Each Flower I cut out two sets of  flower heads removing some background petals for one of them set of them.
I used Simple Stories Hello Baby not only for the background but for the actual flowers.
I used the Simon Says Stamps Woodland Frame to frame the flowers and finished with a Sketchy Banner sentiment.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Pretty in Pink

A card finally, I made it last week before the Man Flu and the evil cough which has incapacitated for the last few days.
Its for the new Everybody Art Challenge of Monchrome this week. I used the sweet Adele image from Mo Manning, love her hat. I just grabbed some pink papers from LOTV and the Spellbinders frame, the sentiment was using a die from the same set.
Then it was a case of choosing some favourite dies and punches to finish off.
Sorry for the quick post but really not up to blogging yet but do have a card for tomorrow's Simon says Stamps Wednesday Challenge.

More Edward's Menagerie

So Man Flu has given me a cough which has throw my neck out not helpful for card making and I have a fabulous stamp set from Simon Says Stamps Hop to it release that I haven't felt well enough to play with.
I did get round to photo my crochet animals. The First one is the Chimpanzee but he looks more like a monkey so I added a tail and then worked out its not in the centre so he's back to being a chimpanzee.

While up visiting MIL I made the donkey, I do seem to have a problem with the muzzle the fact its a bit long  although my DD says its fine.

This is the first time I had a go at making the loops for hair/mane and DD vows never to sit next to me next time I make them. The air was a bit blue but worth it in the end.
I've now attempting Morris Mouse from a different pattern and out of the comfort zone of the pattern book.

Spring Cleaning

Finger's crossed I get the post right and the Dream Blog Hop post too, I'm suffering with a cold virus even if it does feel like Man Flu.
Lucky for me I made my card last week knowing the weekend will tire me out and not sure if I would be able to make the card in time.
Now I've been a bit cheeky the lovely Gretha who makes amazing cards has chosen Spring and I decided on using the Housework Fairy for a bit of Spring Cleaning. I found some odd bits of some Kaiser papers and decided to use them.
Thought it was about time I used some brought flowers and not too good at doing some displays but using my Lavish Branch die and some pearls on acetate stems help to bring it all together along with some Hydrangea punch flowers.
Now you should of arrived to me from the lovely Julie's blog and now to Hop, Skip and Jump over to Heidy's blog.
Don't forget to comment along the way there are two vouchers to spend in Mo's Shop for two random winners from the comments.

Texture

Thank you for joining us for the All Creatures Great And Small Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

ADD A LITTLE TEXTURE

We are showcasing our very own SIMON SAYS STAMP EXCLUSIVE PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

Lets see if I can remember all the items I used for this card. Has you can see the challenge is for texture and out came my Dreamweaver White Embossing Paste. Decided on my stencils Simon Says Stamps Medium dots and Crafters Workshop Harlequin.
I used the dots on the main mat of the card and I cut out the Floral Ovals from Spellbinders, before I took off the die I added a bit of colour then added the embossing paste. It was tricky to get the shape out while damp but I needed to wash it off before it dried.
So now I have the basics of my card now it was time to decorate. I used the Simon Says Stamps Fresh Daisies to give me height and I cut out four shapes so I could add the flower top to give dimension and trimmed one to give me three daisies.
Then I used the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Flourish for the corner of my arrangement again cut a couple of time and trimmed the flowers so I could add for dimension. I also have added the Simon Says Stamp Songbird branch bird not sure why but it makes me happy.
I then added the Kite from Simon Says Stamps Soaring for You backed with the contrast colour and added some silver twine from my stash. Last but not least I made the fishtail sentiment with a square punch and using the Simon Says Stamp Best Mom Ever sentiment.  Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Celebrating 1!

Really must get in the habit of scheduling my posts the night before. I'm here now with my card for the Everybody Art Challenge and this week its a sketch.

My image is from Mo Manning called Celebrating 1 but I decided to use a 2 on one of the paper pieced balloons since it stood out more but I could easily change it. The papers are Echo Park I think could be wrong.
The border is Doohickey die that I brought when I was at the Lily of Valley open day ages ago now. To be honest by the time I added the balloons, border and ribbon there wasn't much room for anything else but add a sentiement.
Do pop over and check out the team, also hope you can join us this week.

Shabby Chic Birds

I have been really bad and haven't used my Simon Says Stamp kit and its full of hearts and Valentines, whoops a bit late for that. But I did like the vintage paper included in the kit which worked well with the papers. Somehow this card was born.
I distress the edges and inked them too. Added the Fresh Foliage from Memory Box and some flowers from my Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch and couple of Songbirds from Simon Says Stamps. Along with the sending die and the sketchy banner sentiment to finish. My flower pot was just cut out of scrap of brown card free hand.
I didn't turn the PC on yesterday when we got back now I'm wishing I did cos this post took ages to do.
It was lovely to see MIL returning to her normal self with the help of the carers she has now put a bit of weight and starting to move more easily round the house long may it continue.
Someone was looking after us on Saturday we must have literally missed the awful pile up on the M40 by minutes.

Precious Moments

What do you reckon Scrapbooking Sunday although I can't promise there will be a layout every Sunday but I can try.
This is a favourite photo of myself and hubby with my nephewbut it was 18 months ago and he now is a proper little boy who loves playing goal! (he means football)
I'm please how it turned out based on a layout on Pinterest although my Simon Says Stamp leaves were place where it suited the leaves and I tried to match flowers on the floral print.
These papers are old but still work today I think. Sorry about the obvious sentiment couldn't think of one and yes this is a square its the crooked photographer whose back.
Hopefully we are up and planning our return from a flying visit to MIL, next month hubby is on summer hours, makes life awkward but then he is retiring. I did mention he is retiring didn't I.

Ducks!

I'm pretty sure these are not ducks but geese whatever they are as you can seen I coloured them in yellow.
Bit of rush job for my PB card today but I'm happy that I used some scraps of paper that was making a pile on my desk.
Not too impressed with my flowers I think in my head I was thinking they looked like daffodils but who was I trying to kid. I should of quilled some centres may have to do that if I can find my quilling tool.
I was really pleased how straight my sentiment was till I photo the card, weird.

Pink and Grey

I may have to schedule my posts the day before because my PC is having issues when I turn it on in the morning added with that all my fonts have gone weird not sure whose fault is that but I have a sneaking feeling it was the Windows Update because it fine till then.
I wanted to join in with the Less is More challenge to celebrate their fourth birthday. They've chosen Pink and Grey although I haven't checked to see if it one layer in which case I won't be entering this card.
I've stamped everything in grey which is why my poor rose is looking a bit faded. I cheated a bit by added a touch of blue for the water in the jam jar
All the stamps are from the Clearly Besotted free ones from a magazine, I rarely buy mags these days but I wanted to the stamps Hubby was so no impressed. Whoops the grey strip the pot is standing on is from Stampin Up which I masked so it didn't go straight across my card.
I made this card for someone in mind who thoughtfully sent me some flowers.

Hush

I've been waiting till I knew this card had reached its destination before posting. Since Mr Mojo was missing from my craftroom and I needed a baby card, I thought I would cheat and check out the baby cards tagged on my blog. I was disappointed to find I had more boys or all the girls were fairies, which at the time I was worried that instead of thinking cute it would get translated into something else.
At least with Mo's Hush it could work with either sex and has you can see in her little pink babygro she is indeed for this card at least a baby girl.
I grabbed a few of my favourite things knowing they would work even if my mojo wouldn't. The flowers are Upsy Daisy by My Favourite Things and so is the divine swirl which I cut to suit my card. The little hearts are Simon Says Stamp small doily heart set and large Holiday shapes.
Of course my frame is Floral Oval from Spellbinders and the word Celebrate if from Penny Black, I thought I had a congratulations die but apparently I don't but that had now been rectified and winging its way to me.

All Creatures Great and Small

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the All Things Bright and Beautiful Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL

We would like to see animals on your creations this week.
We are showcasing PAPER SMOOCHES PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

I knew I was going to use the Paper Smooches Chubby Chums although in my head I had planned to use a couple of the chums but the card didn't want to go that way.
First of all I created my sky, first I cut out the Simon Says Stamps Cloud Bank and stuck onto a bit of card and trimmed round the edges to give me a stencil. Then I blended ink across the top moving it down creating clouds.

Since I was paper piecing my Kites from Simon Says Stamps Soaring for you, I stamped directly to card to give me the position then added the stamped string and bows.
Moving down we have the MFT fence along with the Paper Smooches Dog Icons Kennel which I used the Avery Elle Wood grain and more on to make it look like its was made from wood.
I finally got my hands on Sending and Wishing stamp set it always seemed to sold out before I could place my order I even had to buy the dies again just so I could buy it. I noticed its reserved for about the third or fourth time.  But it works brilliantly with the Simon Says Stamps Wishing die which I cut out twice so it really pops off the card.
The green bit of card is from Echo Park Fine and Dandy and just so happened to be on my desk.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Vintage Squares

A quick post this morning, I finally finished every bit of wool I had for the granny squares was rather hoping to be able to make two blankets. There's only enough for one though and maybe a cushion.
This was the easy bit the hard bit will putting them together.
I've also finished a Monkey from the Edward Menagerie book, I do have a problem my crochet gets twisted not sure if thats because I hold the wool like I'm knitting or if I'm doing something else wrong. My DD thinks he looks cute will photo him today since I finished him last night and it was too dark.

Thinking of You

There's  a new challenge on Everybody Art for Bakers Twine, I nearly didn't make it because somehow I had confused myself and made a Babies card. Lucky for me this card was on my desk and I was able to add some Doodlbug Bakers Twine to it.
To be honest I'm not sure the card works but it was hard to make a sympathy card and I was trying to use the CAS(E) this sketch. Anyway it did mean I had a card for the challenge and if I had known I could of posted a card yesterday.
Of course my flowers are the Hero Arts poppy stamps this is the thinner one and I also used the MFT scallop die for the little pink edge which I could have shown more off in hindsight.
The sentiment is a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set but I've had a tidy of my craftroom and I can't find which set!
The sequins are irridescent and show slight pink, green and yellow colours if it catches the light right.
Do pop over and check out the team, also hope you can  join us this week.

Dogs too

Yep another Scrapbooking page, I do have a card but I'm not sure they've received it yet so I'm afraid it will have to stay in my drafts for a few days yet.
I do love this photo I stole from my Sister how they are laughing because the dogs wanted to get in the photo.
Can't believe that baby is now the amazing little chap I see on Thursday and I had forgotten how funny nearly two year olds are.
The papers are Bo Bunny and there is one sheet left which I don't like but it feels good that I got several pages out of the kit.
The leaf swirl is Cherry Lynn chopped up to suit and the Love is the Avery Elle which I really do love and it will keep popping up.
This is layout five so far and I'm only one week behind for a layout a week.
There was a last minute cancellation at crop I've been going to yesterday and since its not far, my daughter was happy to take me. I managed two layouts that needed a little bit added when I got home since football was on I was happy to finish them. So now I'm a week ahead.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This is the only card I've made this week and its for the new challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Since its February the challenge is for hearts. I've cheated a bit my image has a few hearts in it but its not an obvious Valentines card since I don't really have the need for loads of those type of cards.
So my little Slapstick image is called Good Friends, the papers are some pretty ones from Echo Park called Fine and Dandy.
The flowers are a Elizabeth Craft die and the leaves are cut up pieces of the Lavish Branch from Memory Box.
I needed a sentiment and decided to use the Happy die and sentiment set from Simon Says Stamps, I used two cut out happys and layered so it would show up a bit better.
Do pop over and check out the team, hope you can join us this month too.
Now that I've finished writing this post in twice the normal time, my poor PC is struggling this morning and its not convinced it wants to work.

How not to take

I've only made one card this week and that was for tomorrow, I did however made two layouts at the crop last weekend.
I'm pretty certain I've used this sketch before but once I had laid out my photo's and papers I was kind of at a lost what to do next.
I added some arrows and made the camera using MFT die and added the title which was cut using the cricut. Maybe I was right to step away from the layout before I added too much stuff.

Sending Snowdrops

Remember the other week I used the Winter Bloom from Clearly Besotted for Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge, well it was only right to used the Snowdrops from the same set.
Although I left it very CAS, I used the Stitched Rectangles as well as the Bundle of stitched shapes both from Simon Says Stamps.
The Sending die from Simon Says Stamp is a definite favourite at the moment and is permanently on my desk along with the Soaring for you but I only use the fab sentiment which works so well with the die.
I layered my snowflakes and although you can't see it well here it does give a lovely dimension.

Yesterday went well and so many people came to say goodbye. Thank you for lovely kind comments you all made on my post.

If Roses Grow in Heaven

If Roses Grow in Heaven

If roses grow in Heaven Lord
Please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
But there is an ache within my heart
That will never go away.

Today we shall be saying our final farewells to an amazing woman.
No matter how much you expect it, it still hurts.
