Crochet Post

I've just realised I haven't photograph the CAS layouts that I have done so far for Hubby's 60th in Spain but since I'm running late I'll post about my crocheting instead.
I finally finished the Dahlia Granny Square Throw, I find making the square easy but the border is hard for me to hold and I end up having to work  with craft gloves to stop my hands from hurting so much. I'm not very good at borders it seems this time I've added two many stitches. I will bear that in mind next time. But its going to my niece for her Macmillan Coffee afternoon

My first attempt at a minion, I found the yellow wool even though its double knitting its thinner than the rest of the wool, so there's no room for a mouth. So I'm making another and using different size hooks seems to be working at the moment.

We off again to MIL again soon and I need something to crochet in the car, so here the colours of my next granny square blanket. Love that the Woolwarehouse send the wool in these bags, I put my blanket above in one, makes a nice finishing touch.

Love your crocheted dahlias, Debby! Your niece is a lucky girl to get this beautiful blanket. Looking forward to seeing more of your crocheted works of art in the future.

The blanket is gorgeous. I used to love crochet and knitting. Haven't done any for years. I had a problem with borders and getting the number of stitches right. So in the end I used to do it seperate, by casting on enough stitches for the depth and just work on those. You can do a piece for each side and then either stitch on or crochet it on the the sides. You don't then have the weight of the whole blanket for your poorly hands. Hugs, Carol S.xx

Wow! How beautiful the throw is Debby and the colours are so pretty! I love the Minion too as he is so cute. I am still finishing a throw I started at Christmas time and have just got all the end to sew in, the worst part of the making I think, so I think you are far more prolific than me. I love the colours you have for your next make too. x

thanks to you and Youtube, I've been inspired to start crocheting! love your granny square blanket - so far I just go around and around but I really want to start trying to add flowers into some squares and make a lap throw for Mum. Those shades of lilac are gorgeous, and just what I need to get for Mum's room!
