Pearl Wedding Anniversary

It was the lovely couple that I go swimming with on Fridays, Pearl Wedding on Boxing day and I needed a card but dozy drawers here make it with gold! Right down to the gold numbers has you can see I was able to remedy my mistake by turning it into 50. But had to make another.

All white card but just using some silver to help stand out the 60, I must also remember to stamp first before I stick on the an embellishment cos my sentiment isn't has clear as I like not helped by the camera angle either.
The embossing folder in both cards are Whimsy from Lifestyle cards, also a favourite when you're using pearls but can be quite expensive so I've used liquid pearls. So pleased they worked out so well, years ago they always seemed to dry very pointed but they don't seemed to do that now.

Favourite Five Creations of 2013

Here we go the years is nearly at a close time for my Favourite Five Creations of 2013 and this one is far more harder to cut down to five than the Christmas one.

Ok number 6 slipped in but I do love how my Ladybirds card turned out.

Now to be in with a chance of winning the candy all you have to do is make a post of Favourite Five of 2013 I don't mind if a few extra find their way in.

If you have already posted your favourites of 2013 I don't mind you back posting but they have to be 2013 creations. I forgot to add the closing date is the 11th January 2014 so you still have plenty of time to enter.
Then you have to link to Mr Linky here.

Scrapbooking

Just wanted to add the last of my scrapbooking of 2013 do hope I can do better in 2014. Both are double layouts both using Bo Bunny Papers.
Both are pretty simple as well, the first one I just used the stampin up Banners and clouds. Not sure now how I laid out the English in the title but its done now.

Again very simple with just using the Chevrons punch from Stamping and titles. What does make it pop is the black and white with the touch of colour from the Titles, the black mat behind the photos also help.

Snow

Remember a stamp I couldn't find, well guess what I found it, only wish I found it earlier so I could of made a few more. The stamp in question is a Woodware one by Françoise Read and is simply Huge Snow.
I used the papers from Stampin Up and the snowflakes are a combination of Simon says Stamps and MFT ones.
The whole thing is simply done like paper piecing and kept very simple with some small flat back gems and the cards then goes through normal post.

Hugs

Time for a bit more of a fancy card but I'm now thinking its a bit too much or have I just gone OTT with the swirly leaves.
Since its Saturday a Penny Black Squeeze 'Til I Squeak image possibly an all time favourite, well it should be. My sister let me borrow this stamp and since I wanted to use it so often I went out and got my own this was many years now and I don't regret buying it. It was of those stamps that now its a bit grubby with love from using it.
The papers are LOTV which I'm now trying to use up the bits left of the older packets but those that are left I'm not so keen on them, good job it isn't that many.
The daisies are MFT and swirly leaves are Cheery Lynn and for quickness the sentiment is from Craftwork cards with the added use of a couple of Stampin Up punches.

Five Geese Laying

So just before Christmas the Less is More Challenge was for 12 days of Christmas but I missed the one layer bit. I decided to have yet another go but didn't have time to photo the card before it got dark and then missed the deadline. But they have choose your own from previous challenge for the next couple of weeks so I could use  the card I made.
Its a High Hopes Duck  goose but I thought it would work, the footprints are of the other geese that  have run off. I've a sneaky feeling that this goose is actually a gander which why he is have problems laying a egg.
I coloured the the feet and beak with copics but don't look too closely the colouring was done in a rush. I may have another go at a previous challenge since I have till the 3rd January.
So the weathermen have us on an Amber warning and there are flood alerts and all those poor people who were starting to get over being flooded and out of power could probably be hit again.

Twine Heart

Well that was an eventful Christmas the weather gave us. If you did see the news the south east was hit with a pretty bad storm took out trees and power. We were fine but for one tiny problem we were going out to Christmas Lunch in Godalming who had no power.
But by Christmas Eve evening we had the call to say they had power and everything was fine. But also by this point the River Wey at Guildford had burst it banks and things were looking serious and by morning it had nearly reached levels as high as the worst flood ever.
Even Godalming hadn't escaped and once again they had no power and we had no Christmas Lunch. Lucky for us the fabulous people at Inn on the Lake had arranged for us to go to their Sister pub at the Horse and Groom at Merrow which is where I said we should of gone when we first booked but was overruled by DS.
I feel very sorry for those who were affected and once again worried about the storm which is going to hit us on Friday.

Now to my card isn't this heart fabulous, it arrived a few days before Christmas and I so wanted to play and I needed an Anniversay card. The Doily heart is from Simon Says Stamps, I cut it out twice but the second one I chopped of the scallop edge and drew round it to make the red mat underneath. The middle cried out for either ribbon or twine, it makes quite a statement. The beautiful scripted sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamps Perfect Love which I think will turn into a firm favourite.

Favourite five Christmas

So here we are Christmas Eve with a enough food to feed an army even though we promised to buy less this year, the presents are wrapped and the double sided tape and glitter have been put away till at least after Boxing day.
But it does mean I have a little challenge and if like me you were prepared and have the post in your drafts waiting to be published. My Favourite Five Christmas Creations (or in my case cards) of 2013.
There's a link after each card to take you to the orginal post.

Now all you have to do is make a post of your Five favourite Christmas Creations and using the linky thing add your link to the post. This time I called it creations because we all seem to be diversifying into other crafts including myself.

Fairy for Christmas

Ok this is schedule post if you're a early bird reader I will be in at Sainsburys at silly o'clock but when you're using crutches the last thing you need is crowds by 7am we will be back home with a cup of coffee and eating our porridge.
I've finished making Christmas cards not sure if I have any left in drafts so you may be made to suffer those if I don't have anything better.
This little sweetheart is from Mo Manning called Teen Fairy Pia, I was going to say a favourite of mine but basically I think Mo's images are all my favourites.
The papers are LOTV and the poinsettia is a combination of Spellbinder and Mariannes dies, the holly leaves are Cheery Lynn. The sketch is Sketch and Stash which I thought would be difficult to but it worked out fine.

I have made a playlist with a few Christmas songs well mainly Celine Dion These are the Special times (I think thats what its called) there about 30 songs on the list so I'm trying to brainwash my brain to get into the spirit, I think it working. But ask me later after I've been shopping!!!!!!

Stampendous Robin

There is nothing wrong with this robin from Stampendous but I first coloured the berries in pale grey thinking they were mistletoe but I saw people's cards with red berries so I tried to colour them in red it didn't turn ou well so I've been avoiding him.
But I didn't want him waiting till next Autumn and put me off using him again so I quickly made a card with him. Just used the Floral Oval to cut him out and then inked round the edges. I then used a gel pen for the berries but it looked awful so I then added some glossy accents to them don't look too bad now.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps December kit I feel really bad I haven't had time to play with it properly but love this sentiment.
Then it was a case of some flowersoft/fun flock mixture on my branches and berries.

I finally got round to cutting some ribbon and photo the goodies for a random winner of my Favourite Five Christmas Creations. Don't forget it starts on Christmas Eve but you have till 4th January to link a post.

White on White

Something a bit different for Penny Black Saturday since I have the Vintage sentiments I thought it was time to use it. With the help of the Holly and Mistletoe dies from Penny Black too.
I want a fancy border but that meant this card was larger than I usually make but it helped the holly so I didn't need to cut it down to fit.
The pine needles are Impression Obsession  and the poinsettia is Spellbinders. The berries are Liquid pearls which I waited to dry before adding the pine leaves and poinsettia but I did use pearls for the centre of main flower.
Whoops nearly forgot the frame, a nestabilities cut out twice, obviously placed over my sentiment before layering the die cuts.

To help find my Christmas spirit its was the turn of Arthur Christmas movie but DD was devastated that the presents were delivered by elfs, Santa drove a space ship, no reindeer and the North Pole looked a call centre. I loved it with its dysfunctional Claus family including politically incorrect Grand Santa and love the comment the Son of Satan Santa. Looks like I'm still wearing the Bah Humbug hat at the moment.

Robin Tag

My MIL sent down a parcel with no tag and since her paper had robins I had this idea to make a robin with punches so I googled and got Jak's blog and now I knew how it should look I worked out how to make him using what punches I had.
The body is a circle punch has well has his red part which it a the same circle punch but then punched again to get a sort of fat oval.
I found a punch with flowers and a leaf and it was the leaf I used for both wings and the beak. The eyes I used the Stampin Up Owl punch which I find handy for tiny circles. Made a tag and drew his feet, job done or at least I thought it was.

My DD saw them at first asked for 20!!!!!! but managed to talk her down to 10 trust me 6 is usually my maximum number before insanity takes hold.
Apologies for the terrible photos, the first one my hubby was on his way out to deliver it when I remembered I hadn't taken a photo and the others were taken when I couldn't find any light in the house so had to use a daylight lamp.

Mittens

At the moment I seem to have lost Mr Christmas Spirit as well as Mr Mojo, it doesn't help the camera playing with the reds on my card either. My DD is trying find Mr Christmas Spirit by forcing me to watch Christmas Videos although I'm not impress with her choices so far, Fred Claus, Santa Clause 3 and ELF!
Back to the card this little cutie is one from my coloured pile and I decided to use her with a Sketch Saturday sketch that you can choose this week. I've chosen 219.

I've used the MFT crochet border die for around my image and the flowers are a couple EK success punches with the Martha Stewart Holly punch. The sentiment is Craftwork card printed one but using the Stampin Up punches to surround it. The papers are Nitwit download and they should be more Pink than its actually showing.
But thats it no more Christmas card even though I still have some images left to use.

The Birds

For the Less is More Challenge its 12 days of Christmas don't ask me how but I found myself on Wikipedia reading about the history of the song. I discovered that four calling birds were actually Colly Birds and that were blackbirds so now you can see the inspiration for my card. I was also inspired by Birgit who makes the amazing CAS card.
The sentiment which was a lucky find with my Simon Says Stamps For the Record set.
Now for the senior moment just realised the LIM challenge is for one layer cards but to the drawing board then.
