Favourite Five of 2010

Ok whose stupid idea was it to choose five, since I blog a card a day and that means over 300 cards. Yes some I looked at and dismissed instantly but some were really hard.
I managed to get it down to the final sixteen then down to 10, but now I'm well and truly stuck.
That's it I'm down to six and thats final I can't possibly choose further.
Good Luck everyone to choose just five but since its my challenge I forgive anyone who can't make the final cut to 5.

I confess this type of Penny Black stamp I'm not keen on but I was given it by someone dear and I thought it would be rude not to use her. She turned out brilliantly and I love the finish result and as you can see she became a favourite.
I love LOTV and I had so many to choose a from but I think I love this chap especially for those difficult mens cards.
There couldn't be a favourite five with some PB mice.

I love how these cut stamps work so well together and I love those Oliver papers.

I made several Wedding cards for DD friends, my particular favourite is this old Penny Black stamp which took a lot of patience to colour and layer.

I love this cute Kiki fairy baby from Mo Manning and I had to make her my sneaky six.

I would love you to join me in my Favorite Five of 2010 and of course I have a little candy which includes two Penny Black Slapstick stamps, you can see which ones by these posts here and here.  I will use the random thing on the morning of Friday the 7th January.

Di's Digi & Friday Sketchers

Another image from Di's Digi that fell in my basket and the fab sketch over on Friday Sketchers is so perfect for her. The papers are from Papermania and it was wonderful to get into my craftroom and play with some made flowers instead of punched ones.
This is quite a simple card but I think very effective and helps the image to really pop.

I've draw the winner for my Favourite Five Christmas Card  you'll find the post here.

Celebrate

We want you to celebrate over on Simon Says Stamp Challenge and in my case I've used the sweet Christmas Party Tilda available at Simon Says Stamps here.
Now the card was bit of an experiment I seen other cards have a fabulous frame round the card and so I thought I would give it a go I used  MS Modern Garland which I brought from Simon Says Stamps.  My problem was 5 inches was too small once punched out and the next size was too big. So I cut out two circles across and down made a bit difficult by the fact when I cut out once I was left with two bits to cut out the second time, I then joined them back up which the ribbon is hiding two of the cuts. But at the end of the day I love my frame but not sure I would have the patience to do it again.
The leaves are cut from Sizzix die and the flowers are Petaloo which I sprayed with gold and pearl glimmer mist

Don't forget to check out the DT there is some stunning work and there is a fabulous prize of $50.

Thank you so Much

So nows the time for some Thank you cards and this large sentiment from High Hopes is perfect and helped by Dustin Pike's frog also available from High Hopes to finish.
The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs not sure who by but I think they're call Blissful.
No frog would be without googly eyes and then job is done.
Although there is no challenge on High Hopes there some fab cards from the latest release we are showcasing each week.

Over Indulged Bear

I love this bear when I saw it on Di Digi Downloads I knew I had to have it and it perfect for someone I know. I've used the Sketch Saturday sketch even though it finished and I finally cut into the Echo Park Little boy so expect to see more of that.
I cut out of the papers buttons to use for embellishments and since it a chaps card there wasn't much more I could use. Finished it of with the MS zigzag punch and the embossed dots.
Well thats Christmas done with but at the moment we have two bank holidays because Christmas fell on the weekend so DD doesn't go back to work till Wednesday but Hubby is helping BIL. So I shall be returning my craft stuff to the various places in the house but it might take a while since my craft room became a bit of dumping ground.

Penny Black

One of the things we all groan about as soon as Christmas is over. Is the fact that supermarkets who no sooner as the last Christmas pud as been sold off their shelves that oval shaped chocolate arrives on them.
Yes indeed you will be finding Easter Eggs have arrived and in keeping the tradition going here's my first Easter Card.
I can hear you groaning from here but I loved getting out the cute Penny Easter Bunny  even if I do colour him in mice colours. The papers are American Craft now that I've cut into it quite a bit now there's no Stopping me. The daisies are Woodware punches, the sentiment Craftwork card and stampin up punches.
Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.

Thank you for the brilliant response to my Challenge you can see the Post Here.

One last thing

One of the things I don't is flower arrange but I given an arrangement from Niece's wedding last year, so this year we brought a new oasis to go with the vase and candle. With a mixture of real and artificial flowers I made arrangement for our Christmas table and its doesn't look too bad.
I've added a few more cards that the PO has managed to deliver.
Just want to say how amazing how many of you are joining in with my challenge and what amazing collection of Christmas Cards. It not to late to join in, you can find the post HERE

So all I need to say today

Merry Christmas Everyone

And I'll be back on Sunday with a new card.

Fave Five Christmas Cards 2010

Here they are my favourite Christmas Cards of 2010 and I do hope you can join me. Just make a post with your five favourites and link it to this post and I'll randomly pick a name for some Candy which includes two LOTV James the bear stamps so you will be all set up for next years Christmas Cards. You have till 29th December to enter and I shall draw the candy first thing on the 30th December.
Now my first choice is this round card because I was impressed that it didn't wobble.

I really loved imagining colouring the sweets to make this card.
I had to include this new PB stamp, I love my red wine so I thought this was very apt.

I love Mo's designs and loved my faux poinsettias.
Another Mo's design and I used some Kaisers papers which are so gorgeous they were hard to use.
Don't forget to join in.

WOYWW 81

So whats on my WOYWW some amazing Christmas Cards from some fabulous gifted friends.
Tomorrow I move back to my Craftroom for Christmas that means my pencils and my X Stitch from the living room get moved into there too.
Anything that looks a inch of craft gest put in there too.
My poor Cuttlebug will be removed from the Kitchen to reside on my Craftroom floor.
But don't worry it only lasts a couple a days and on Monday everything gets put back where I found it!!!!!!!!!

When a Child is born

Well this week on Simon Says Stamps Challenge its Anything Goes and of course we have a fabulous prize from Simon Says Stamp Store.

My card using the sweet image from WOJ  which seemed appropriate this week and the papers are Graphic 45 Baby to Bride. For a Change I've used Nellie Snellen flower punches that come with an embossing punch which would have shown up much better if I had used plain card, both available from Simon Says Stamps also the stamp too.
Did you know the set from Cuttlebug which has these fab corners Simon Says Stamps also sell.
I used the sketch from WOJ which is also being sponsored by Simon Says Stamps.
Now don't forget to check out the team, always wonderful creations to inspire you.

Shock, horror I haven't been card making, I've been finishing a couple of layouts and doing the journalling bit which I hate but for my Vegas book I felt I just had to get over it and get on with it.

Favourite Fives

I've been left some messages how my favourite five challenges are going to work.
Well on the Thursday 23rd December I will post my Favourite Five Christmas Cards and I will add Mr Linky so you can join me.
I will then on the following Thursday 30th December do the random thingy and announce the winner of
this blog candy it includes 2 Lily Of the Valley stamps you can see which ones here and here. The contents of the candy may change not the stamps but I will probably add some more flowers. It was too cold in my craftroom to look for stash, it was case or grab and run.
Now on 31st December New Years Eve this is where it gets tricky. I will schedule a post because I'm away partying. So if all goes well I will post my Favourite Five of 2010 which could also be very tricky I've made a fair few cards this year could be hard to just choose five. Again I will add Mr Linky so you can join me.
To win this candy I've two Slapstick Penny Black stamps to see better look here and here. Then on Friday the 7th January, again I will do the random thingy and announce the winner.
Now the blinkies were made for me by Katlyn at K'n'K designs so it looks like a proper challenge and if you would like to add it to your sidebar to advertise my little challenge that would be lovely but you don't have too.
Phew that was long post and it took a while to find the Penny Black cards, I used the labels but there was 174 and it felt like they were the last two.
Edited; Quick question from Jamie about whether you link to various posts, I'm going to do a new post with the five pics of my favourite card so I think that would be the best idea and link that post in Mr Linky, that way it will be quicker for bloggers to check out your faves.

A cute Welcome

There's no new challenge on High Hopes Challenge but don't worry the team is showcasing the wonderful latest stamps and we promise to come back in the new year with bang.
So here's another sweet stamp from Laurie Furnell, I do love these cute monkey and they're so easy to colour.
I've used the deep edge daisy punch from Martha Stewart but I cut it in half and use it round the oval mat to help it curve I cut to lowest hole  and not to waste the other half I use it for a border too.
I have to confess I cut the words so it would fit in an oval or circle but I felt I would use it a bit more like this.
Sorry don't know what the papers are.
Do check over the blog and see what other amazing creations the DT have created.

First Snow!

A new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge is for First Snow and this is my final Christmas Card of 2010.
I 've James from LOTV and Basic Grey Christmas papers which has lost if front cover and I can't remember its name.
Martha Stewart had quite a hand into making this card what with the snowflakes and the Icicle punch and it wouldn't be one of my cards if there wasn't a ribbon on there somewhere.
Do pop over and check out what amazing creations the team have made.

Pretty Monday

I was searching for a particular stamp and I found this little cutie that I haven't used for ages, so I blew the dust off and stamped her, she is a Whipper Snapper stamp.
The papers are Doodlebug and all used up now, shame did love those papers. I followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers and I tried copying the flowers on the papers using various punches.

The BBC weather Observation for our area is reading -11 well that is just ridiculous and unheard off this far south of the UK.
I got up early to listen to traffic reports to see whether DD should go to work at normal time or to wait but it looks like once she gets off our estate the main roads are OK.

Delovely Tilda

Something nice and bright this morning, Cosmo Cricket Delovely papers and since I've used the fab sketch from Just Magnolia there be a Tilda on this card.
Slightly different flowers instead of the usual funky flower punch although this flower punch is from EK success too. The stamens punch is Leone-em one and I used some gems for the centres.
I had plans this weekend, yesterday I was going to get in advance some DT work but it snowed and Hubby was home and I just don't seemed to be able to get on while he is home.
Today is should be Scrapbuddies Christmas Crop but the snow has frozen making it tricky to get there so its been cancelled.
So maybe I will get in advance with that DT work after all.
