Baby Girl

So the challenge on Tilda and Co was to make something for Baby. Well I've been boring and made a card which will be very handy because one of my nieces has annouced she's pregnant. Thats means the card I made for daring cardmakers "new", which was a new son card and now with pink one, means I'm now prepared although I've a sneaky feeling it maybe a girl. It will be interesting to see if I'm right.
The check paper was some scraps left the striping paper is DCWV, the words printed on the PC came from 2 peas, PSX bear and little tingla stamped and coloured and those handy little tags from Stamps Away. Sorry about the pic being dark would you believe it was too sunny yesterday and washed out the colours now look at it today wet, windy and just plain horrible.
Hi Fran I haven't forgotten you've tagged me will work it out for tomorrow.

More challenges

There is another challenge blog but with Sugar Nellies, the challenge is using a Sugar Nellie and checks. The challenge on the Daring Cardmakers was to look back at the last challenge and use some of the elements that the design team had used on their cards. How about that for lucky because Jo had used a star and so had I, so just for a change this card makes up for both challenges. I used hopscotch papers from K&Co and the star was cut out on the cricut.
Having to look out some photos for my A-Z journal, didn't realised but the C prompt is this week, thats cos I was running a week late.

Challenges

I've not been having much fun with technology, my anti virus thingy found a virus, prob was it was in the software I use for downloading pics. Manage to sort it out and decided to use another program already on my PC well it just doesn't do what the other program does. So I've downloaded the software again this morning and fingers crossed its clean.
Any way but to nicer things, there are loads of challenges going on at the mo. The first card is for Marlou challenge, you had to have a red or pink embellisment, ribbon and the word Love. I've used the paper on the front of 12 by12 pack of two scoops, used the hearts on the embellishment sheet and ribbon out of my stash, quite please how it turned.
The second is for the stampin up challenge in the UK afraid I was too late for the challenge but still pleased with the card, I used Be happy set and chalk pad for stamping, the large flower was cut out with the cricut.

Sons & Brothers

Another couple of pages of MIL birthday book, the first pic is the only one I have of my OH and his brother when they were little. The small pic on the brothers LO is from a slide from about 1975 and the large pic is one from last year. I've used Rusty Pickle chocolate bunnies but the brothers I've added to some K&co. I used the brothers LO for the challenge on UKS too which is why there are stars on the LO.

I've got into trouble for not showing the bag lady LO but I may save that for tomorrow.

Never a Bride.

Finally I have managed to do B for my a-z journal of me, I have known what I wanted to do from day one but getting the photos scanned or actually having to photo them because of the texture paper that was used as been difficult because the light during the day as been so bad. I have use two scoops from BG.
Had a great time at Modscraps crop catching up with everyone, can't believe its been so long seeing everyone. I didn't really do much but checked out what people were doing, had a talented lady next to me who was doing some really fabby layouts, and the button lady was doing some great cheese-holing and of course using some of vast collection of buttons.
Its was long day as we were off in the evening to celebrate Fairy Karen's birthday bash.
Happy Birthday Karen for yesterday hope you had a great day.

Cropping

This post is for tomorrow because of a really early start tomorrow. I need to be at Sis's by 7.30am so we can get on the road for Bristol. Finally after many cancellations due to doting Grandmothers who think scrapbooking is seconded to Grandchildren! You can tell I haven't got any I'm sure I will be just as bad. Any how at last we off to Modscraps crop to meet up with our old friends who may have forgotten us! And lovely Ellie brings her shop so some stash shopping although the craft kitty is suffering badly from last weekend.
I've used my last coloured in Magnolia using Di Hickman Jan#4, I've used Dovecraft 6 by 6 papers, I think it still needs a sentiment and maybe a flower.

Rudolph Day

I had decided to be good this year and at the end of each month, I was going to make a few Christmas Cards but a thread started on UKS about Rudolph Day which is basically on the 25th of each month you make Christmas Cards. Brilliant so has today is Rudolph Day I shall be making some of these. I've used a Magnolia that I brought just before Christmas and Daisy Bucket paper. The snow globe is cut out on the Cricut and the tags are from Stamps Away from Clevercut. I didn't put any glitter on yet, decided to leave that nearer Christmas I've not been forgiven yet for Glitter chicken faijitas.

Butterflies

The little extra at Daring Cardmakers is a sketch because orginally Jo was going to set the challenge but she's unwell, Get well soon Jo. Now you know I love a sketch, well the circles turned into butterflies and had to pop a third on cos two just didn't look right. The large butterfly is psx and the words are a umounted stamp I've had for ages. Stamped with colorbox catseye chalks.

Not much happening here, I now have all the photos I need for my a-z and I've nearly finished another LO for MIL book.

Ismaki Challenge 3

Crooked photography slight improvement on this card for Ismaki challenge, I used the Dovecraft masculine papers and a doodlebug flower. I saw that Andrea had used buttons on her panel down the side and thought what a great idea, so hope she doesn't mine me copying it. The little tag stamps are stamps away that I brought from Clevercut. The images all coloured in with watercolour pencils but I've just received a box of prisms and a friend has picked up the sandsador and a couple of blending stumps, still it won't be till the weekend before I see her.

Tilda & Co Challenge

So I pottered around yesterday, and realised I had some Magnolia stamped but not coloured in so finished them off then I wanted to make a card especially with all the lovely papers I brought specially for cardmaking. Now the Tilda & Co challenge is to use silver, so the circle is silver, the brads are silver and I used a silver pen to colour the pattern on her cardi but I still not happy with it so stamped some butterflies this was my first ever stamp I brought. I feel a bit better about it now just have to stop photo-ing cards crooked.

sorry

Nothing crafty to show and it looks like the weekend has taken its toll on the old body so going to have to take it easy for a couple days. Most important job to be done today is to take some photos of some old photos that won't scan because the photo paper is textured and the scanner picks that up and I need this pic to make a start on the letter B for my A-Z journal.
The second important job is to work out where all my new stash is going, its already started to spread into the corner in the dining room but thats full now.

Day two

I love two scoops and I think this sheet is my favourite, I made this card for the Ismaki challenge, I did find the sketch hard to do but I'm really pleased how it turned out. I used a stampin up stamp for the flower stamped with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder and did the same with stamps away Owl but I stamped him twice and and layered his head. If you want to see the little owl coloured in check out EllePiggo blog
Last day at the make it show possibly I wouldn't go today because I suffering a bit but we have a workshop and now that DD won't be with us I will get her some bits for her Birthday. It was lovely yesterday because all the major purchases were brought Friday and we watch several of the demos and there has been no panic about only have a day to do, see all and buy lots.
Now you know the saying things always go in threes, well while we were watching a demo lovely lady on the fourth dimensions, she split her chocolate all over her table so Sis helped to clear it and managed to get it all down herself, so thats one, DD split her orange juice, it shot across the table and caught Lyn, then last night while eating a chinese not sure how she did it but Sis managed to throw her wine up in the air and got covered head to foot in the red stuff. Good job Mr Grumpy is a carpet cleaner because her beige carpet has the measles.

Stash shopping

I have not brought loads of stash OK I LIE, brought some paper stacks, stamps, boring stuff like cuttlebug plate, trimmer but they were on my list. I brought some nestabilities and if I have some pennies left I may get the retangle ones after seeing what Andrea made on her blog. Tomorrow I'm going to look for some scrapping paper and booked a workshop for the afternoon. If anyone is thinking of going allow extra time to get into the car park it moves at a snails pace.

The card on show is Di Hickman Jan #3 sketch, I thought it was the second one guess this year is going as quickly as last year. Scraps of chatterbox and DCWV paper, a whisper stamp that I eventually stamped straight and loads of bling.

It's here

Finally the start of Craft shows starting with the U can Make it show at Farnborough and I have a three day ticket. So not much crafting in the next day or two.

This is a card for Samm's birthday challenge, check out her blog here but you only have till the 20th. Hot of the press papers and some pearlescent card, the magnolia could be one of those that arrived this week (have to be careful Sis reads this and she has a habit of dropping me in it).

So I have a list, well its quite short but I'm sure that won't stop me.

Teddies

Just want to thank Jo Kill here's her blog and papercraft inspirations because I really couldn't think what to do for this wedding card, then the mag arrived and there was a double spread of Jo Kill Teddies and although I didn't use the template in the mag, I used circle punches it set me on this path. I love the two scoops at the moment, I have another card using the two scoops but some reason all my photos have gone weird so need to sort that out today.
Another thing to sort out is this wireless thingy, I now have a lead but is it simply a matter of changing it over, oh no I have to find my PID and password to change the connection on the PC. I may be back later!

In trouble again

Oh am I in trouble I'm suppose to be making a wedding card for the weekend for a friends daughter guess who forgot.

Busy making this card for My Paperworld sketch, used the scraps of chatterbox that I used last week, anita's best wishes stamp and stampin up doodle daisy, a bit bling brad and gems on petals are peel off love how they're seem to be all different colours in the photo but they are all the same.

I now have some two scoops from BG, I know its the make it show at the weekend but they fell into the basket while I was buying some mags from Modscraps.

Very PINK

On Sunday the Tilda & co challenge blog put up their new challenge using numbers, well that fitted well because I have a 50 birthday card to make and hopefully she'll miss this post. It had to be pink for this person no other colour would do. I've also decided I might be a bit short of magnolias and Mrs Mac has replenished her stock on Funkykits.
I also have a card almost ready for My Paperworld sketch just waiting for some glue to dry but looking at the weather photo-ing it could be a challenge in itself.

Sketch

I found this blog about another card challenge and as I love sketches, this was my attempt with the crate paper I used last week.
Many thanks to My Paper World whose sketch I used a few weeks ago as pulled my name out of the hat for some gorgeous strawberry embellishments. I'm hoping they may go with my strawberry cupcake stamp from magnolia. There's also another sketch to try.
The crop went really well, I've almost finished off a LO and well into another and thats with loads of chatting too.

Weekly Challenge

I've done my weekly challenge on UKS, we had a sketch to follow which I think is a Pagemap, use something new, rik rak or ribbon, 3 patterned papers and a doodle. Well I managed the rik rak and the patterned papers and of course the sketch.
Of to a crop this morning and hubby is already breathing down my neck to get ready.

Me and My Shadow

Friday means the dare it up for Daringcardmakers challenge.
Me and My Shadow !!Hiya fellow darers, Jane here ! How are you all ? This weeks dare is a hard one !! Sorry everyone, but it had to be done !! :)
I want you to create not just one but TWO cards ! But wait........there's more ! I want both cards to contain the same embellishments and papers, ribbons etc- but arranged in a different way for a different occasion....the only thing being different is the wording....I'll let you have different wording ! (How nice of me eh?) I'm well aware this is a really hard challenge, and that I have thrown everyone into 2008 off the deep end....but go on- give it a go - I DARE YOU !
I'm very please how my two turned out. I use white and purple card and two pattern papers from Chatterbox. Again not sure whose rubber stamp it is, it was in my unmounted stamp box but I think it could Oxford Expression but I've had the stamp for years. I watercoloured the images and cut them out, and the same ribbon on both cards. I had seen blogs with a kick stand card which I think was a challenge on SCS so decided to give it go with the square card.
Francoise Read book has arrived its in lovely bright colours and has I've known Francoise quite a while now its very hard to give a honest opinion. It reminded me of some techniques that I had forgotten. I've been stamping for nearly seven years and its very hard to find books for an experience stamper.

Di Hickman Jan#2

This is my card for the Di Hickman card sketch Jan#2, I used an a stamps away clear stamp which I got before Christmas and paper pieced her from scraps, stamped and coloured the blossom unfortunately I don't know who made the stamp and the chinese Happy Birthday is a Francoise stamp. I so wanted to put something else on the card but I think it would spoil it, less is more or so they say.
Its Friday so what have you got planned for the weekend. Sis is waiting for a new car and I was hoping that it might need a test drive but she soon put a spanner in the works by informing me it's U can Make it show next week and loads of spending money is required. I'm having withdrawing symptoms, haven't brought anything crafty for ages, well all except Francoise book which I'm still waiting for, free postage always seems a good idea at the time.

One good thing is the Scrapbuddies Crop on Sunday at Mychett Community Centre, catch up with like minded people, not sure what I'm doing yet might take some Magnolias to colour in ready for the challenge at Tilda & Co on Monday. So if you fancy to drop by please do, most of us scrapbook, but we do have a couple of ladies who are cardmakers.

Dopey

The daringcardmakers mid week challenge is up.

Mid week little extra...'New to me.....We want to see your Crafty Christmas Presents ! Make a card using a new toy you had for Christmas, or in fact any crafty goodies that you received. Its a great chance to try out all your new toys/papers/embellishments! We'd love to see what crafty presents Santa dropped into your socking.....
I've used my happy ever after catridge for the Cricut, he's a bit fiddly to do, I've only the little cricut and I could only cut him at 5inches. I wish now I inked him before I stuck him together. The flower is from a walk in the garden and was inked. I used BG for the paper behind him wondering if I should have just used plain card but DD liked him and would like me to make another for her.
The technology came out of the box and after a couple minutes went back in the box because the lead connecting modem and pc are different to what the router has sockets for so thats another trip to PC World.

Tilda & Co

There is a new challenge blog for Magnolias called Tilda & Co, you have to use a Magnolia stamp and the challenge for this week was to use flowers. So I've use the crate paper that was already on my desk and needing to be used, I've also stamped the daisies, the stamp is Hobby Art and 3d.
The technology is still in the box but I've planned to sort it out today, so if I'm missing tomorrow you'll know why.

Emma

Sorry to all the cardmakers out there but I've another Layout to show. I do have some magnolias waiting to be done on my desk so watch this space. The layout is another for my MIL's book and is of her mother Emma. I used Di Hickman January sketch when I saw this I had these photos waiting to be done and it fitted so well. I used crate paper, loads of inking. The journalling box was a lucky mistake, I had started to write the jounalling straight onto the page and made a spelling mistake so I had to find something to hide it all. Its a chipboard shape that I recovered and made the little border looks much better than what I orginally done.
I was dragged down to PC world yesterday and now I have a box of technology to sort out so DD can use her laptop the chap said it takes 15 minutes tops!

May

Well this is MIL's first page and yes its very pink with lots of handstitching. The good thing I've used some PaperAdventures paper that I've had for ages. The page hasn't photo well not sure why. I have another page on my desk nearly finished and I used a Di Hickman sketch.
Today is my first day of trying to be good about food and wine. No skipping lunch then feeling snackish while dinner is being cooked, no picking inbetween meals and to cut down on the old vino.

A-Achievement

So this A-Z journal wasn't as easy as I thought, the girls at its a creative world have done a great job with inspiration words and fabulous examples of their journals but none of the words struck me. I think the problem was I basically knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to do it more like a circle journal and I didn't want it too serious, tongue in cheek is much more my style.

So after stalling half the day I made the decision for the word Achievement then things just fell into place and because I had BG recess papers out already and the pics seemed to go well with them thats what I used. Loads of inking and journalling (most unusual for me).

I've used 8" by 9" card because I shall be binding it myself hopefully with the Bind it all and left an inch for coils but discovered half an inch would've done.

Thank goodness I've worked out which word I using next time.

Something New

The latest dare from Daring Cardmakers is for something NEW. I decided on a baby card, I had the photo stickers for ages and I've seen some cards with this layout and it seemed to fit. The papers are out of my scrap box and some of the rub ons I think are chatterbox. The card below was my first attempt using caardvarks challenge using a Becky Fleck card map and Daring Cardmakers challenge NEW but the finish card looks like a new home card for a haunted house and DD agreed with me. I used BG for it, why is it when BG bring out loads of new papers I pick the wrong one. For some reason the photo looks a lot lighter than in real life, its quite dark.
Now Sis has been concerned that I haven't had any parcels delivered which I just said that I haven't brought anything crafty, so just for my Sister I have brought something crafty from Amazon (sorry tried to link but it didn't work) Francoise Read 100 Great Ways with rubber stamping. I may now get into trouble for not checking to see if she wanted one too.

Valentines

This is the first sketch of the year from Di Hickman to me this has a bit Victorian feel about it. I used scraps from a left over kit from last year, the card stickers are creative imagination and the paper is foof-a-la. I stamped and embossed the large heart several times, cut two hearts out then punched smaller hearts out. Afraid the stamp is an old one with no name on. This card has DH name on for Valentines.
So the weathermen gave a weather warning for snow now I'm not sure about the rest of the country but we got about 30 seconds of snow and that was it.
On a sad note the mouse has gone to mouse heaven thanks to Sis who brought the stuff. If there was anyway we could be sure he wouldn't eat the house and wires he could've stayed.

Scrapping

I have started to MIL scrapbook, brought the album I know its only a papermania one but I think MIL would appreciate the look. I have even sorted the front cover out instead of strangers I have used pics of that I have been scanning from slides from 1978, can you believe it but its 30 years ago. The album came with some papers which I have used to matched the cover and I've had to keep it quite flat has there is a plastic cover to protect the centre. The first page has already been started and is very pink.
So here in the UK we are waiting for some snow probably not a lot but you'll be surprise how the country comes to a standstill with a little dusting.

Resolutions

Even though she 's been sitting on my desk for a few days, this is my first card of 2008, papers I think is my minds's eye and of course magnolias stamps.
So has anyone made any resolutions, I don't really bother but each year I promise to lose weight this year I must make a serious effort, to be honest I don't think its about what I eat more to do with what I drink. Not sure how I'm going to give up a nice glass of wine especially when I think the red variety helps with cholesterol, but needs must and next week I start thinking about healthy eating. Its no good starting now far too many goodies left over and anyone who knows me will power is not something I recognised.

1st January 2008

I really couldn't pass up today without posting even though I have no crafting to report. Do have a few pics from last night, the first is the reason why we call KC Mr Grumpy, the second is a nice pic of my Sis and Mr Grumpy they're going to celebrate their ruby wedding anniversary this year. The last is a scary photo of yours truly and was the best of the most awful bunch.

Hope everyone had a good evening and lets hope 2008 will be a good year and not just for vintage.
